"You are ought to give a very big explanation Dr. Booth. Hundreds' died in Sokovia." The Head said.
"I am truly sorry for them. But we saved thousands' of life. We did what had to be done" I said.
"Reports say that Mr. Stark and Dr. Banner created Ultron. Why did they do that?" the member asked.
"Ultron was created as a Global Peace Making program. Something which will defend and protect us at any cost. But it gained knowledge without control and went rogue. I apologise for that" I said.
"But it was rather and impressive program." I added.
"Don't try to justify Stark's actions. He does nothing but only create trouble with his inventions" One member said.
"I am not defending him. That's the truth. And in case you have forgotten, it was his AI JARVIS that was changing the nuclear codes from Ultron" I added.
"What about Dr. Banner in Mexico? What happened?" The Head asked. "Dr. Banner was under mind manipulation. By Wanda Maximoff an enhanced. He was basically out of mind. He had nothing to do with it " I said.
"And now you are recruiting her in the team?" A member asked. "Sir, there was a circumstantial change. Once they came to know about Ultron's motives. They took the right side" I said.
"Why didn't you inform us Ms. Booth. We could have helped you" I tried to hide my smile. I am sure they would have been no use.
"Thank you sir. But we were fighting on a chunk of land that was floating in mid air with robots crawling about. We didn't have a window to call you" I said. There was a silence.
"Are you done? Or are you running out of questions? " I asked them.
"Dr. Booth. We thank you and the Avengers for your work. As you said people were saved and are now safe. But still you've got lives to avenge on your shoulders" he said.
"I know sir" I said. That's true. Lives lost definitely lie on our shoulders. "We believe that is because of the authority you posses" the head said.
"Authority to what?" I asked. "Decisions making" he replied. I rolled my eyes fed up of this.
"Sir, we were in the middle of a war. How many times should I tell this? I cannot literally call you every second and ask for ideas and permission" I said in an annoyed tone.
"That is the only reason why you are part of the Council " he said. "Then I don't want to be. I can walk out now. Try recruiting someone else from the team. I am sure no one will be as patient as I am with you" I shouted. They all stared at me.
"So this is your side?" He asked. "I stand by my team and all the desicions we've taken. Sir, I understand this. We are working here for the safety of the entire World. If you think that Avengers are a big part of it, then we cannot shake hands and make a deal. This is what we are. This is what we do. You can overlook us. You cannot control us." I said.
"Now, if you please excuse me, I have people to train" I said walking out. That was one hell meeting.
