SHAPESHIFTING AND HOREMONES

   A lion, a spider, a butterfly. All in seconds. It was so cool having the power to turn into anything I want to be. I felt in control again. Jaylen told me this was another power I've developed. I loved this power. I could be cute and cuddly of ferocious and deadly.

   This was awesome. Except if I turn into an animal that lives in the water, well, on land I could die. So, I learned that the hard way. “Okay, focus,” Christina said. She was helping me get the hang of it. I took a deep breath, trying to focus.

   And while my eyes were closed, I could feel myself morphing into a bunny. When I opened my eyes, well, I've never felt so short before.

   “Awwwww!” Christina said. She reached to pick me up. I tried to run, but she caught me. She hugged my smooth white fur. This was really awkward. Maybe I should have gone with a bear.

   I turned back into a human. That was just weird. “Sorry. You were just so cute!” Christina said. “She doesn't have to be a bunny to be cute,” a voice said. Standing at the door was Jaylen. He was leaning on the wall. “Oh really?” I said walking toward him. “Yep. But I'm hotter than you,” he said totally ruining the moment. I pushed him back. “Please! I'll out hot you any day,” I said rolling my eyes. “Yeah, sure,” He said getting close.

   “Oh yeah. Get ready because I'm about to role a movie,” I said staring him in the eye.

  “Then at least let me give you the preview,” he said. He leaned in and kissed me. I kissed him back.

  We pulled away after awhile. I then realized Christina was staring at us. “Oh sorry Christy,” I said. I decided to use her nickname after all. “Oh it's cool. I think it's sweet. Weird, but sweet,” she looked troublesome.

   Like she was hiding something. “Uh, Jaylen. Can you give us a second?” I said turning to him, trying to smile. “Sure, okay,” he walked out of the room looking curious. When he shut the door I turned to Christina.

   “What are you hiding?” I said knowing that she was hiding something. “What do you mean?” she said acting confused. I knew this wouldn't be easy. I walked up closer to her, staring her dead in the eye.

    “I know you know something. Spill it,” I said not looking away. Christy started sweating. It was pretty gross, but I still didn't look away. She was moving her eyes so fast that I every time I blinked, I missed like 10 different eyeball movements. She looked everywhere except my eyes. I finally backed away. “Come on Christy! Just tell me! How bad can it be?” I said flinging my arms around in frustration. She finally spoke. “It 's not bad for you! It's bad for Jaylen. Really bad,” she said. I squinted my eyes. “What are you hiding?” I said calmly but still suspicious. She took a long, deep breath. Then she spoke. “Okay fine! Well you know Black right?” she said playing with her charm bracelet like she does when she gets nervous.

   “Yeah? What about him?” I said not getting what Black Jack had to do with this. That's what I call him. Yet I don't have a name for Jaylen. Weird huh? “Well, um, you see. Oh for the love of god! He likes you!” she said covering her mouth after her outburst. I looked at her, not showing any emotion. Then I started to laugh. “That's the big secret!? That he likes me! So? Who cares?” I said sitting on the couch.

  “Who cares? If Jaylen found out about this, he would freak! No? Wait never mind. He would kill!” she said sitting next to me.

   “I doubt he would make that big of a deal out of this,” I said still laughing inside. “Uh, ever heard of hormones? He has huge ones! He almost broke my arm because I stole the remote from him. And that was last week! And, do you know why his last girlfriend dumped him? Because they were having dinner at this hotel he rented. And he wanted…you know…..stuff to happen. And he almost freaking raped her! And…” I popped my head up quickly and stopped her.

   “He what?!” That last one really got me. It reminded me of what Bryce almost did to me. I had forgiven him, just like that.

    But all my anger came back, and it was all toward Jaylen now. I thought he was different. But I guess everyone has hormones. Werewolf's have it hard though. “Yeah. He did that, but she forgave him,” Christy started to laugh a little.

  The next thing she said, just made my cheeks turn bright red. “Talk about whore mones!!”
