Connor's POV

I walked to the park that I always go to for our dates. I gripped Autumn's hand firmly, not wanting to let go. This better go as planned or I'm fucked. I still feel the distance between us, her hand not fully clasped with mine. I thought long and hard on how to tell her how I feel, how to show her that yes, I do love her. I don't know how she'll react to it, I just hope she feels the same way.

It was dark, which was perfect because I needed it to be. When we reached the pavement that's in the middle of the park, I turned to her. Her lower lip was nipped between her teeh, gnawing anxiously. I just wanted to lean in, kiss her over and over, and tell her that she became my world.

"Stay here", I said, squeezing her hand lightly before releasing. I took out a lighter from my pocket, lighting it up. Autumn took a step back. "W-what are you doing?" she said nervously, her hands at her face. I chuckled. "Nothing scarring babe, just look."

Her eyes widened when she realized that there were candles surrounding us. I lit each one by one, brightening up the darkness around us. Her eyes got watery. The candles were in the shape of a heart. I smiled, her face awed at the scenery. I went to my phone, which was connected to speakers. I saw her face light up when the song "Can I Have This Dance" started playing. She always gushed about the High School Musical song that she absolutely adored.

Autumn always wanted to learn how to waltz, but because she was so afraid of the world she never really gained the courage to learn. I had to resort to youtube in order to know how to waltz. It took me a while, and a few awkward practices with some of the boys, but I got it down.

I held my hand out to her in a gentleman-like way, winking at her. Her eyebrows raised up in realization. "Connor...wait no I can't dance", she stammered, blushing. I rolled my eyes playfully and grabbed her hand, pulling her towards me. "Take off your shoes", I commanded lightly, trying not to sound harsh. Before she could reply, I bent down on one knee an started untying her shoes. She slipped out of them with ease.

Autumn eyes me cautiously as I rose up, hovering over her. I smirked and lifted her up by her hips. She yelped, squirming under my grip. I placed her feet gently on mine. I took her left hand in my right, and placed her other hand on my shoulder. She looked confused as hell, which I found amusing.

"Do you know how to waltz?" she asked, surprised. I wiggled my eyebrows. "I may have learned via YouTube", I replied. A ghost of a smile appeared on her lips. My eyes flickered towards her lips, yearning to just lean forward. I restrained myself from kissing her. I felt like this wasn't the right time yet.

I listened to the beat of the music, and I started to dance... Well attempt to anyways. As I danced, I told Autumn exactly how to waltz. To the tip-toes to the circles, I explained everything to her from start to finish. She stumbled at first, tripping over her feet a few times. I laughed of course, just not at her.

She picked up the beat quickly, dancing gracefully in my arms. I twirled her around, her hair flowing around her head and draping over her shoulders. Her smile glowed radiantly under the light of the candles. She was beautiful.

I was in love with Autumn Worthe and every second I spend with her makes me love her more.

Her head was thrown back, laughing and smiling. We circled around the candles shaping the heart, making sure not to knock over any candles. After the song ended, we were breathing heavily because we were circling and laughing so much. It felt like an exercise really.
