"Where is Sophie?" I demanded, my fists clenching at my sides.

"Oh don't worry!" Marshall rolled his eyes dismissively. "She's safe."

"As if I trust you," I muttered but in reply, I only received Marshall's awful laugh.

"So what's changed?" He questioned.

Why did I trust him before?

"I had a feeling that you wouldn't be able to do it once you ignored my text." He shook his head in disbelief. "You had one job, Olivia," Marshall stepped closer, his fist inching very close to my face. "One job and you blew it. And for what? A stupid teen romance?"

I nodded, feeling tears finally fall down my cheeks.

I didn't even tell Blake that I felt the same way about him.
All I wanted, at that moment was to be in Blake's embrace and forget everything.

"How cute," Marshall said patronisingly, sharply awakening me from my imagination.

He gave me a long, hard look then finally said: "I'll give you one final offer. I need Blake dead."

Why?! I almost screamed at him but I kept quiet.

"You want your family to stay alive, right?"

I nodded vigorously; the tears were streaming down my face faster now.

How is that even a question?

"If you kill Blake Evans, proving your loyalty to me, I promise I will spare your family. And if you do it, I will relieve you and your family of your duties as spies and you can settle down as a normal family wherever you like - you said you have wanted that for a long time."

I felt my body shake with emotion, as I cried harder:
I have a second chance to save my family.

"Surely, you won't let the blood of your family be on your hands, Olivia." Marshall whispered in my ear and I shivered, fighting every instinct in my body to punch him - it would only make things worse. "Or will you?"

I kept my mouth shut in a tight line, and Marshall raised his eyebrows.

"Fine, you can be like that," He shrugged. "But you need to make a choice quickly."

I looked around frantically, feeling my head spin.

He bit his lip, then said: "You're looking very parched, do you want some water?"

Slightly confused as to why he changed the subject, but thirsty anyway, I reached for a jug of water on the kitchen table.

Marshall moved my hand away: "Allow me."

He got two glasses out and poured water into them while I sat on a chair.

It was only then that I had realised how tired I was.

"Here you go," Marshall passed a glass of water to me and I gulped it all down in one go.

Why was he suddenly being all nice to me?

However, the water left a bitter taste in my mouth, and a strange burning sensation in my throat leaving me choking in a spurt of coughs.

My forehead throbbed and my stomach churned - I suddenly felt really weird...

"Why does tha waterrr tashte soooo weirddd?" I slurred, then stood up in alarm.

"What's wrong?" Marshall asked, the drink of water in his hand untouched.

How could I have been so stupid?

He drugged my water.

I clenched my fist and tried to hit him but I missed terribly; Marshall merely stepped backwards laughing as he poured the contents from his glass into the kitchen sink.

"Why are youu doing thish?" I asked, gripping the table tightly so I don't fall.

"So our journey's easier," He simply replied. "Blake is already on his way there now. When we arrive there, you can choose to either kill him or your family gets killed - it's your choice."

Blake is on his way to where?

I tried to reach out to Marshall and spew out my questions to him but lost my balance and fell unconscious onto the hard, solid floor.
