I toured the new house - it was definitely nicer than the last one.
It had a large green garden with a new-looking shed. Then upstairs, inside the house, my room had a double bed, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers by my bedside. My wallpaper was a creamy shade of white, and the bed was so soft and comfortable. I sighed with a sense of longing. This was definitely my favourite house yet, but it was a shame we wouldn't be staying here for long.
Mum walked inside my bedroom and grinned, "Wow the room looks great, doesn't it honey?"
"Yeah!"
Suddenly, my phone beeped and I rolled my eyes - it was a facetime call request from Marshall.
Couldn't he just let me feel normal for just one second?
I answered it, reluctantly.
"Olivia, I see that you have arrived in your new place. Do you like it?" He asked.
"Yeah I guess."
"So as you know, your target is Blake Evans," he continued.
"Yep, I know that," I sighed.
Unexpectedly, my mind reminisced to when I bumped into Blake earlier and I wondered whether I should tell Marshall what happened. But as soon as the thought came, I cast it out.
He would only worry, I thought. There's no need for him to know because nothing happened.
Marshall gave me a sharp glance to see if I was paying attention when of course, being me, I wasn't.
"Currently 16, he was born on the 2nd of February 2001, and he has two younger siblings. Got it?""Yes."
Before I could say anything else, he replied, "What he has done is still classified until further notice. Okay?"
I nodded, knowing that there was no point in even arguing with him about this.
"You have two weeks to do this elimination - as it is quite a big task, so I feel like I'm being quite generous. Also on Monday, I have assigned you to go to Blake's school to get closer to the subject - with all the uniform and stuff ready for you," He said.
"How do you want me to kill him?"
Marshall paused in thought, and I focused on his greying hair while biting my lip - whatever I use to kill could make or break the mission.
I just hoped he'd choose a simple way to do it.I never liked killing, but it was my job.
"A gun would be quick, but it is unlikely that you would be able to get away in time without people noticing and getting suspicious plus, it's quite messy," he replied.
I winced - I was trained how to use a gun but I had never used it to kill someone before and I didn't want to either.
Marshall's eyes lit up as he had an idea, "How about using Batrachotoxin poison?"
I nodded, feeling more at ease.
Batrachotoxin is a toxic poison that comes from the skin of poisonous frogs - and it is considered to be one of the most lethal toxins in the world.
It kills by interfering with the sodium ion channels in the cells of muscles and nerves, jamming them open so they do not close. This ultimately leads to heart failure because the excess salt increases the blood pressure in your body, adding a burden on your heart.
All I would need to do, is to get close enough to Blake to get some of the poison in contact anywhere on his skin.
Marshall smiled in satisfaction, "Perfect. Oh and before you hang up, please pass the phone to your mother. I need to talk to her. Good luck on your mission and update me with any news."
As I passed the phone to my mum and she went to another room, I sighed and sat on my bed.
Two weeks to kill Blake Evans.
This is going to be a piece of cake, right?———
Now this story's really getting started! I might post more later 💕
I hope everyone has a great day!
