My hands still tied, I eased the poison out of my back pocket.

If I was right, the poison would be acidic enough to burn through the ropes that were tying us.

If I was wrong

Blake saw me pulling out the poison and gave me a questioning and concerned look.

"Liv, are you sure this is safe?"

"No." I whispered, trying not to reveal the fear in my voice. "But I have to try."

I looked over at my parents and Sophie who were weak and almost passed out.

They couldn't help me now.

In agony, I slowly unscrewed the lid, the rope burning against my wrists and looked down at the dark-blue liquid.

Here we go...

I poured some of the liquid onto the thick rope that was binding my hands and almost immediately, it started burning and sizzling.

I pulled at the rope.

It was loosening!

I tugged and tugged - however any second longer, I was sure that it was going to come in contact with my skin.
I tugged one last time in hope, and to my surprise, I was freed.

Blake exhaled in relief and grinned. His eyes then flitted to his binded hands, silently asking me to untie him but I shook my head: "I need to do just one more thing first."

I gazed over at Marshall who was sitting on the other side of the room, with a computer in on his lap.

“5 minutes till explosion. Please evacuate the building.”

I stood up, it was time someone did something about Marshall.

"Hey Marshall!" I yelled.

He looked at me in slight shock, "You escaped." His gaze lowered to the vial of poison in my hand. "You used the poison! Very smart and inventive - I guess I should feel very scared now."

"Disable the bomb and let us all go otherwise I'll…" My voice shook with fear.

"You'll what?" Marshall laughed in disbelief. "Kill me? We both know you couldn't muster the courage to do it last time."

"Shut up Marshall," my dad hissed in reply.

I clenched my fist.

"Haha, I knew it." Marshall smirked. "You're worthless and a waste of breath. I had a feeling you would be cowardly like this. Wimp."

Alright. I've had enough.

I threw the poison in his direction and it splashed onto his face.

Within in moments he collapsed with his hands clutching his face, screaming.

“3 minutes till explosion. Please evacuate the building.”

I ran to Blake my hands ripping at the rope tying him and the others.

But Marshall was right.

I was worthless.

Even if I untied everyone, we would never all escape in time.
