-Blake-
I ran down the stairs after Tessa, feeling my heart break with sadness.
"Wait!" I called to her. "Did I say something wrong?"
She slammed the door making me wince.
I turned around, noticing that everyone was looking at me.
"Blake!" Aria said, looking shocked. "What did you do?"
I looked towards the closed front door in a sense of longing, "I don't know..."
Tears brimmed in my eyes but I impatiently wiped the back of my hand over them.
Taking a deep breath, I turned towards my group of friends and plastered a fake smile on my face, "It doesn't matter guys. Let's carry on with the party!"
They gave me one last look of sympathy, before trying to carry on with the party.

I really tried to keep positive, but without Tessa there, everything felt dull and monotonous - even the amazing birthday cake my parents bought for me didn't taste as great.
I don't even know how long I sat there on the sofa, not joining in with anyone's conversations.
All I could think about was what I said to Tessa and what could have made her feel offended in any way.
I walked into the kitchen absentmindedly to get some water, bumping into Oscar while he was taking some snacks.
He met my eyes with an apologetic smile on his face, "I'm so sorry man about what I said I heard Tessa say on the phone. I truly did think she said that, but now I realise that that was so stupid and unlikely." He paused, then chuckled slightly. "I mean, you're still alive now right?"
I smiled slightly and walked back into the sitting room.

It felt like hours had passed of me just sitting there while the party went along without me when suddenly, disturbing my thoughts, I heard Freya call my name: "Blake. Blake!"
I turned my head, slowly.
Once again, everyone was looking at me.
"Hmm?" I mumbled.
Ivy placed a hand on my shoulder, "You still seem upset right now - maybe it's best if we leave so you can just have some alone time."
I exhaled, feeling my shoulders droop as I stared at the ground.
Aria lifted my chin up so I faced them again, "If you need anything just text us, okay?"
Oscar nodded, "I'm sure things will work out soon. It does look like she really does like you Blake."
I mumbled: "Thanks guys" and watched them walk out of the front door.
Only seconds later, I received a message from Ivy:
-Ivy-
Just one thing: make sure you save us some of that amazing cake!I grinned a small smile.
They are the best friends I could ever ask for. After I left, I walked upstairs to find Toby and Harper outside their room with upset looks on their faces.
"What's wrong guys?" I asked, feeling worry swirl in my stomach.
"Did you fall out with Tessa?" Toby asked sadly.
"No..." I shook my head and took a deep breath. "She just left the party early and I don't know why."
"Tessa's really nice, I hope she's okay." Harper replied.
"Yeah, I hope so too—"
Suddenly, I was interrupted by a smash downstairs and a high pitched scream. Was that Mum?
"Mum!" I called. "Are you okay?!"
I told my siblings to stay upstairs while I ran down to the kitchen to see what was going on.
"Mum!" I shouted again but to my horror green smoke swirled everywhere in the room and it was starting to make it's way up the stairs.
"Blake?!" I heard Toby and Harper shriek upstairs.
My throat felt as if it was closing up and my eyes were watering - I couldn't see anything.
Blindly I searched around the room for my mum, feeling broken glass puncture my feet, but to my dismay, I couldn't find her anywhere.
What's going on?
"Mum..." I tried again but it felt like I couldn't breathe.
Alarmingly, my limbs started to feel heavy, and against my will, my legs toppled underneath me.
Before I knew it, I was on the ground, and everything around me became pitch black in an abyss if unconsciousness.

I hope everyone has a great day ❤️
