The Private School

Chapter 2

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

I stop my alarm with that annoying beeping sound, I guess I have to get used to that now, I've always been woken up by mum or dad. I rub my eyes and sit up in my bed, I only slept 5, maybe 6 hours. I don't know how long I was laid in bed staring at the ceiling last night just thinking about home and being here, at least the bed is comfy.

I get out of bed and put the shower on, definitely don't want to smell on my first day here, once I'm ready I get in the shower, I'm done after 15 minutes, I get dry and dressed in black trousers and a blouse with a black cardigan. I dry my hair and decide to leave it down, I put some mascara on, that's the only make-up I wear, make my eyes look a little darker. I get some cereal for breakfast and then brush my teeth. Gotta be fresh. I look at the time, 8:34, 25 minutes to get to my first class, I check my timetable, first is English with Mrs H-P sauce. I should go now, give me time to find the room. I grab my phone, room key and bag, I head out and shut the door.

"Hello" I hear behind me, I turn around to see a boy stood there, black hair that's messy, shirt and loose tie, black trousers and shoes, backpack over one shoulder.

"Um, hi" I say shyly, gotta make friends.

"I'm assuming you're new here, seeing as I haven't seen you before" He says.

"I got here yesterday, today is my first day" I say.

"Oh ok, well, Mrs Raven has put you in the best part of the dorm, you're next to some cool people, 22 is a girl called Rebecca, she's known as Bex, and 26 is two sisters called Hannah and Georgia, they all keep to themselves, when I say they're cool, I mean, they won't bother you, you might see them but they only ever say hello" He tells me.

"That's good to know, as long as they're not serial killers that are gonna spy on me" I say which makes him laugh.

"My name is Jacob, but please, call me Jake, I live just down the hallway, number 15" He says and extends his hand to which I shake.

"I'm Addison, but if it's easier, you can call me Addi" I say.

"Nice name, Addi, so where are you heading, I can walk you there, I got lost on my first day, didn't even make it to make first class" He says which makes me laugh.

"That would be great, thanks, I have English first with Mrs H-P, is she HP sauce?" I ask and he laughs, he's easy to entertain.

"That's a good one, I've never heard that one before, her name is Hall-Plug, it's weird I know, she got married just before Christmas, Hall is her name, Plug is the husbands, though I don't know why they put them together" He says.

"Oh right, it does sound really weird" I say.

"Fortunately for you, that is also my first class, so we can go together" He says.

"Sounds great" I say and we start walking.

"I bet you're really nervous, first day and that" He says.

"Just a tad, I've never really socialised, I used to be home-schooled, so how long have you been at this school?" I ask.

"Since I was 13, so about 3 years now, my parents both got jobs where they work constantly, so I stay here all the time and just go home during the holidays, but it's ok though, just got to make friends with the right people, then you can hang out with them the whole weekend" He says.

"Sounds alright, I'm here in the week and then I go home for the weekend" I say.

"That's cool, I do sometimes wish I could see my parents more often but they have to work and I understand that" He says.
