(A/N: I really really like this chapter, once you read it, you'll get it. It's taken me all weekend to type one chapter lol, the part of the story that I'm currently typing is a huge storyline, and it's taking some time to get it right, I'm kind of grateful that you guys are about 10 chapters behind where I'm typing haha. Anyway, enjoy this chapter and let me know what you think of it!!)
The summer holidays is going great, apart from me missing Stefan and calling him whenever Dad is at work, texting him whenever Dad is home. Yeah my week with Stefan is over and I would go back in time if I could to that week. Dad was very appreciative of Stefan for bringing me back, he gave him money for fuel, Stefan tried to refuse it but Dad insisted and stuffed the money in his hand and wouldn't take it back.
Today is supposed to be a special for me, I'm turning 17 today. My birthday, and all I can think about is Mum and Stefan, wishing Mum was here to celebrate with me, and wishing the same for Stefan. Hopefully it'll still be good day with Dad.
I finally get out of bed, it's almost 10am and I have been awake for about half hour now.
Staying in my pyjamas, I go downstairs to find Dad wearing just a white t-shirt that has a design on it and black jeans, talking on his phone.
"Hey, morning sweetheart, I'll be with you in a sec" He says as he cooks with the phone being held by his shoulder against his ear.
"Sure" I say and the counter.
"Ok, thanks, I will, bye" He says and takes the phone from his ear and ends the call. "Happy birthday sweetie, you hungry? I've made you some breakfast" He says sounding rather cheerful.
"Sure, that'd be great, I'm starving" I say with a smile.
"Good, I've made some scrambled eggs and sausages on toast, that ok?" He asks as he starts dishing up.
"Sounds delicious" I say. He puts a plate in front of me and then sits with me and eats.
"I can't believe you're 17 already, I remember the day you were born, I held you in my arms and the first thing I said to you was that I love you so much and will do everything to protect you and give you a happy life, I had your Mother in tears with my little speech" He tells me as he gets choked up. I didn't know that.
"I love you too, and I am very happy, as much as I miss Mum more than anything, especially today, I am still very happy" I assure him earning a smile from him.
"These are for you" He says passing me 4 cards and a little present. I open them up, a card from my Aunt Jennifer, and a card each from my two cousins Jack and Sam, I don't have much to do with them, not by choice, it's just the way things have been, Sam is 12 years older than me, so 28, going on 29 and Jack is about 22 years old. Aunt send me £15 in her card while Sam and Jack put £10 in. The other is from Dads brother Uncle John, although we don't have much to do with him either, he still sends me a card and a £10 shopping voucher.
"Still nothing from any grandparents?" I ask.
"You ask that every year, we don't talk, we haven't talked for the last 20 years" Dad reminds me. It's sad really, none of my grandparents have spoken to us since Dad got with Mum 20 odd years ago.
"Yeah, I don't get why though, like who just stops talking to their kid just because they fell in love?" I question.
"I don't know, but that's the way things are" He answers. Not sounding confident with the answer, but oh well. To be honest, it's been more since Mum died that we've not had much to do with family, I mean, we've never had a close relationship with them anyway, but we did used to talk to them every couple of weeks or so, but since Mum's passing, we haven't.
