It's not completely romance you know. If you think deeper and more emotionally, and read between the lines, you'll understand that each of the main characters so far have been living doube lives, hiding the painful one.
I've already wrote about them here and there, but here's a quick summary for each of the characters and the chapters they were in so far until now.
Joon:-

In Chapter 21, he cried and got upset when Milly said he was only doing it for the company. Basically, Joon has a very different approach to the public. He is seen as a rich young CEO of the company with a cold heart and personality, and many think he uses his power and money to his advantage and doesn't care about anyone. But in order to keep the people around him safe, he decides to keep this image and hates bringing one life into the other.
On the other hand, he is very caring and would die if he had to for his "family". He is also playful and cute with them, and never takes anything too seriously when having arguments.
Think of Taeyong when you first saw him in 7th Sense or Boss, then in all the NCT Life episodes and Vlives, or any more behind the scenes. That's the image I'm trying to go with.
