The next day, Shaylynn is at District 21 sitting in Hank's office.
She keeps turning around in the chair she's sitting in looking out of his office.
"What are you looking at?" Hank asks her.
"Seeing if Jay was here yet! He left way before I did so I shouldn't have beat him here!" she tells him.
"He had to go to the airport to pick someone up," Hank tells her, "Okay, here's the book. Look through and see if Arthur's in there" he says quickly changing the subject.
"You know it seems like you're rushing me!" Shaylynn tells Hank looking at him with a suspicious look.
"No, I figured you had somewhere to be other than here," he tells her.
Shaylynn sits there for eight minutes looking through the book.
Hank looks up to see Halstead has walked up the steps, "This! This is Arthur!" Shaylynn tells him handing him the book, "On the right page, second from the left."
Hank takes the book and looks at the picture as Shaylynn turns around and sees Halstead.
"I see my husband has finally arrived!" she says, "Since you now know what Arthur looks like I'm going to go," she says standing up and walking out of Hank's office.Halstead looks over and sees Shaylynn walking out of Hank's office and over to him.
He looks around and sees the person he picked from the airport has gone to the back.
"Hey, Babe!" Halstead says to her.
"Hi!" she says to him giving him a look.
"What's wrong?" he asks her.
"I feel like you and my Dad are hiding something from me!" she tells him.
"Like what?" Halstead asks her.
"Who did you go and pick up at the airport?" Shaylynn asks him.
As Halstead stands there the person walks out from the back and taps Halstead on the shoulder.
He looks over his shoulder then moves over to the side, "Shaylynn, this is who I picked up at the airport. This is Gr..." he starts to say.
"Mouse! Call me Mouse!" he says smiling at Shaylynn holding out his hand to her.
"Pleasure to meet you, Mouse!" Shaylynn says shaking his hand.
While standing there looking at Shaylynn, Mouse's expression changes.
"Mouse, this is Shaylynn my wife," Halstead tells him.
At that moment Shaylynn's phone rings, "Excuse me" she says and steps away.
Halstead looks at Mouse and sees his expression, "What is it?" Halstead asks.
Mouse sticks up a finger as to tell him a minute because Shaylynn's walking back over.
"I have to go! There's a bomb at the Amtrak station!" she tells Halstead as she walks closer to kiss him until he pulls back.
"What does that have to do with you?" he asks her.
"I've been doubling on the bomb squad," Shaylynn tells him.
Halstead gets a pissed off look on his face, "Jay, I don't have time for this! I have to go!" she tells him.
She turns toward the stairs, walks toward them and down.
Mouse nudges him, "Anything could happen," he tells Halstead.
Halstead runs over and down the stairs to stop Shaylynn on the landing, "I'm sorry!" he tells her as he pulls her close and embraces her.
He pulls away from her and kisses her, "We'll talk later?" he questions her.
"Of course! Shaylynn tells him putting a hand on the side of his face, "I have to go!" she says quickly walking past him and down the stairs.
Halstead watches as she walks around him and down the stairs until she's out of sight.
Walking back up the stairs he walks over to his desk.
"So you finally settled down," Mouse says to him.
"Yes, I also have 3 children with her and 3 stepchildren," Halstead tells him.
"Wow! You've been busy!" Mouse tells him smiling.
"Our oldest, she's adopted. The other two are twins" Halstead says looking at Mouse seeing he has a weird look on his face again, "What is it?"
"Does your wife hang around with four big guys?" Mouse asks.
Halstead looks back at Mouse with a weird look, "Yes, how do you know that?" he asks.
"You don't remember when we were being extracted, not by our own but by a group of five. She was apart of that five!" Mouse tells him, "How do you not remember this? They wore these funky black suits and helmets! Once we were on the bird, they took their helmets off! I saw her face! She was one of them!" he tells Halstead.
Halstead can't believe what he's hearing, "Jay, it seems you two were meant to be together!"~~~~~~~
When Shaylynn arrives at the Amtrak station she sees that the area has been blocked off for four blocks.
She parks her car, grabs a few things out of the back and starts walking toward the station.
When she gets up to the police barricade, she's stopped.
"Where do you think you're going?" the Officer asks her.
"I'm helping out the bomb squad!" she tells him.
"Sure you are!" he tells her.
Shaylynn's getting pissed and pulls out her badge, "SEE!" she says showing it to him.
The Officer starts laughing, "My daughter has one of those!" he tells her.
"Since you don't believe me call my boss Brian Luce! He's the SWAT Commander!" Shaylynn tells him.
"What's your name?" the Officer asks her.
"Shaylynn Halstead," she tells him.
The Officer gets on his radio, "Main, I need to know if there's a Shaylynn Halstead on SWAT?"
"Affirmative!" Main tells him, "She's helping the bomb squad out at your location!"
The Officers eyes get big, "Go ahead!" he says looking past her.
Shaylynn shakes her head and quickly takes off for the station. When she finally gets close enough she sees Firehouse 109 and 51 are set up back from the station just in case there's a fire.
Severide sees her and runs over, "Why are you here? I didn't know SWAT was called?" he asks her.
"They weren't! I'm here to help the bomb squad!" Shaylynn tells him.
Severide gets a confused look on his face that turns into a concerned one.
He grabs her shoulders, pulls her to him and kisses her.
Shaylynn gets out of his grasp, steps back and looks at him wondering what just happened.
Severide sees the surprised look on her face and can't believe what he just did.
"Shaylynn, I'm...." Severide starts to say.
"SHAYLYNN!" the Bomb Squad Commander yells at her.
"I have to go!" she tells Severide and quickly walks away.
Casey saw what happened and walks over to Severide, "Are you alright?" he asks.
"I don't know! I can't believe I did that!" Severide tells him.
"Hey, it was the heat of the moment! You two have history that won't ever change! Shaylynn's going into a very dangerous situation right now. I hate to say this, but if things go sideways, you might not see her again!" Casey tells him.
Severide shakes his head, "Yeah, your right! It was the heat of the moment!"
Casey pats Severide on the shoulder then walks away.
Severide looks over to where Shaylynn's standing and watches her walk into the station with the rest of the bomb squad.
