Five minutes later, Halstead's walking into Shaylynn's room to his surprise she isn't in her bed.
He looks over at the bathroom to see that the door's open. That's when he notices that her IV tree is still in the room and the IV is laying on the bed.
Quickly walking out of the room, Halstead heads to the nurse's station, "Have you seen my wife?" he asks the nurse.
She looks at him confused, "She should be in her room."
"She's not there!" Halstead says panicking.
"Alright! We'll find her," the nurse tells him picking up the phone.
Halstead looks to his right and sees his brother walking toward him, "Will, Shaylynn's missing!"
"Let's go to security and see if they picked her up on the security cameras, "Dr. Halstead tells him.
They walk over to the elevators, get on, and go down to security.Walking into the security office, they're greeted by a security officer, "The nurse called down and told me what you two were coming down for" he tells them, "Your wife went into the stairwell. I checked the other cameras for each floor that stairwell covers and she never came out. So I'm guessing she went up to the roof," he tells Halstead.
Halstead looks at his brother with a panicked look, "GO!" Dr. Halstead tells him.
He runs out of the office and to the elevator.
Taking the elevator to the roof is taking forever with people getting on and off.On the tenth floor, Halstead gets off the elevator and runs toward the stairwell.
Running up several flights of stairs he gets to the door that leads out to the roof.
He quickly opens it and runs out, "SHAYLYNN!" he yells.
"What?" he hears from his left side.
He looks to see Shaylynn sitting down with her back against a wall.
"What are you doing?! You had me scared to death! I thought you left the hospital again!" he tells her.
"I needed to come outside," she tells him, "I can't stop thinking about my guys!" she says then starts crying.
Halstead quickly sits down beside her. He puts his arm around her and draws her to him.
"Everything's going to be alright," he tells her.
Shaylynn sits up, "Everything isn't going to be alright! They had families!"
She quickly stands up, at least as quick as a woman can being thirty weeks pregnant.
Halstead stands up and starts following her over to the door when she suddenly stops, "Are you okay?" he asks her.
"Something's wrong!" she tells him looking down at her feet to see blood.
Halstead looks down to see what she's looking at.
Seeing the blood he pulls out his phone, "Will, Shaylynn's bleeding!" Halstead tells him.
"Try and get her to at least the twelfth floor!" Dr. Halstead tells him.
Halstead hurries and puts his phone in his pocket, "Will said to at least get you to the twelfth floor," he tells her.
Shaylynn puts her arm around Halstead's neck as he puts his arm around her waist.
They start down the four flights of stairs.
"Jay, I don't think I can make it," she tells him on the third set.
"Come on, baby! You have to make it!" he tells her when he hears someone yell his name.
"Jay!" Emily yells out, "Where are you?"
"Come up three flights!" he yells at her.
Emily quickly runs up and meets up with him and Shaylynn, "Em, I need help getting her down to at least the twelfth floor," Halstead tells her.
Emily puts an arm around Shaylynn's waist along with Halsteads, as Shaylynn puts her other arm around Emily's neck.
Both of them are able to get Shaylynn down the remaining stairs.
Emily opens the door with Halstead helping Shaylynn through.
They're met by Dr. Rhodes with a few nurses and a gurney.
Everyone helps Shaylynn up onto the gurney, then they start running down the hallway.
"How far along is she?" Dr. Rhodes asks Halstead.
"Thirty weeks," Halstead tells him.
"Let's take her straight to a surgical room!" Dr. Rhodes tells the nurses.
When they get to the doors for the surgical rooms, Dr. Rhodes stops Halstead and Emily, "You two will have to stay here," he tells them.
Halstead looks at Dr. Rhodes with a worried look, "Once I know what's going on and how she's going to deliver this baby I'll send a nurse out for you," he tells Halstead.
Halstead nods, then Dr. Rhodes quickly goes through the doors and starts running down the hallway to the surgical room Shaylynn was taken to.
Halstead looks at Emily and starts crying.
Emily quickly takes him into a hug, "Everything's going to be alright! You know Connor is going to do everything he can," she tells him, "Let's sit down."
Walking over to the chairs, Emily stops, turns around to see Halstead isn't behind her. Instead, he sits down on the floor beside the door waiting.
