Ten minutes later the Intelligence Unit shows up on the scene.
Hank walks over to Boden who's standing with Sam to see if he can find out anything.
A Uniformed Officer from District 21 walks over to Halstead, "Hey, are you and your wife having problems?" he asks.
Halstead gives him a look, "No! Why are you asking?"
"Before she headed inside that Firefighter ran up to her," the Officer tells him pointing at Severide, "They talked for a few seconds, then he kissed her! I and a few others thought maybe you two were having problems!" he tells Halstead.
Halstead is pissed and quickly heads over to Severide.
When Halstead reaches him, he pushes Severide up against one of the trucks, "What the fuck is wrong with you?! Why did you kiss Shaylynn?"
Casey hurries and tries to get between them, but it's too late.
Severide pushes Halstead off him, "It was a mistake!" he tells Halstead, "With what she was walking into it just happened!"
Halstead looks at Severide in shock not expecting that answer.
"Bomb has been defused!" they hear come over Severide's radio.
Halstead and Severide both look over at the Amtrak station to watch for the Bomb Squad and Shaylynn to come out.
A minute goes by, "There's a second bom..." they hear someone say in a panicked tone over the radio followed by a huge blast that sends dust, debris, and glass flying out the windows and doors.
Anyone who was close to the station was thrown back at least six feet.
When the dust clears, Boden starts yelling out orders to 51 and 109.
Severide looks over to Halstead and sees he's not where he was standing. He turns around to see Halstead running for the station, Boden stopping him before he can get any closer.
Grabbing his gear, Severide hurries over to them, Halstead looks over at him, "Kelly you have to find her!"
Severide puts his hand on Halstead's shoulder, "Someone will!" he tells Halstead.
He then puts his mask on and heads toward the station.
Hank along with Sam, Sophie, and Emily quickly walk over to Halstead, "They'll get Shaylynn out!" Emily tells her brother giving him a hug which takes him by surprise.
"She's going to be fine!" Sam tells him, "One thing I know about my sister, she's a survivor!"Inside the station, the Firefighters are calling out for survivors.
"Fire Department! Call out!" each of them yell.
"Chief, how many were on the Bomb Squad?" Casey radios out.
"Seven! Including Shaylynn!" Boden radios back.
After eight minutes of searching, five members of the Bomb Squad have been found.
They all are in critical condition.
Watching those five be brought out, Halstead is beside himself worried about Shaylynn.Back inside the Firefighters continue to search for the last two.
"Fire Department! Call out!" they all continue to yell.
Two minutes into searching, Casey, and Herrmann see a hand sticking out from under three benches that are piled on top of each other.
Casey takes off his glove, bends down and touches the wrist but doesn't feel a pulse.
"Chief, who hasn't been a counted for?" Casey radios out.
"The Bomb Squad Commander and Shaylynn!" Boden radios back.
Looking at the hand Casey knows that this is the Bomb Squad Commander.
"Herrmann and I found the Commander" Casey radios back in a saddened tone.
Casey and Herrmann look at each other when they hear banging.
"KEEP BANGING!" Casey yells out.
The banging keeps going.
Casey and Herrmann start walking toward where they believe the banging is coming from. As they get closer the banging gets louder.
They stop walking and see a bench propped against another bench creating a tunnel.
Casey squats down and shines his light inside to see Shaylynn looking back at him.
"Are you alright?" Casey asks her.
"One of my legs is pinned," she tells him in a hoarse voice.
"Chief, we found Shaylynn! She's alive but we're going to need help to move a bench off her. One of her legs is pinned" Casey radios to him.
"We're heading that way!" Casey and Boden hear Severide radio out.
Within a minute Squad shows up to help.
They pick the bench up off Shaylynn's leg and set it down to the side.
"Are you alright?" Severide asks her.
"Yeah," she tells him in the same hoarse voice, "My calf hurts from where the bench was."
"Let's go!" Severide tells her motioning to her to sit up.
Shaylynn sits up as Severide crouches down and puts one of his arms under her knees and the other arm around her back. She puts her arm around his neck and grabs her hand that's by his face with her other hand.
Severide stands up with Shaylynn in his arms.
"We'll walk in front of you to watch out for debris!" Casey tells Severide.
All of them start walking toward the exit.Outside the station, Halstead along with Sam, Sophie, Emily, and Hank keep their eyes on the doors waiting for any sign of Shaylynn coming out.
Halstead sees Severide carrying her out and putting her down on a gurney.
When Dawson and Brett start moving the gurney away from the station, Halstead runs over to them.
Dawson sees Halstead running over to them and stops the gurney.
He runs up to Shaylynn, places his hands on each side of her face and kisses her passionately.
Halstead backs up from her, "I thought I lost you!" he tells her.
Shaylynn puts one of her hands on the side of his face, "Babe, it would take a force more powerful than a bomb to take me away from you!"
Halstead bends over and kisses her again.*~*~*~*~*
