It's the day of Titus and Trinity's birthday party and it's all hands on deck. Between blow ups and a ton of balloons, there's a lot to do.
First ones to show up are Emily, Sam, and Stone. All the kids run out to greet them screaming their names, "It's like being attacked by munchkins!" Stone says, Sam and Emily, laughing at him. Even though Shannara, Dominic, and Destiny aren't related to Emily, they see her as their Aunt. One by one the others start to show up to help. As soon as Shannara, Dominic, and Destiny see Severide they take off running. "I can't believe Kelly's here," Sam says to Emily. Emily shrugs her shoulders as the two ladies walk into the house as Stone walks around to the back of the house followed by Severide. Around back, Stone and Severide find Halstead laying everything out. They're quickly joined by Will, Atwater, Ruzek, and Antonio. "Is there enough stuff?" Ruzek questions as the guys walk over to Halstead. "I would say the ladies went overboard!" Halstead tells him looking at his brother and Stone. "Why are you looking at us like that for? We had nothing to do with it!" Will tells his brother. "No, but it was your two women who were involved along with our sister," Halstead tells Will along with Stone. They all start laughing The guys get busy to get the blow-ups blown up, all the balloons filled, and set up the tables and chairs. While the guys are busy, the cater shows up.
After an hour, the guys have everything sat up and just in time as the others start arriving. Hank arrives to see most of his people are already here. He goes around and gathers them together, "What's going on?" Halstead asks him. "There's talk that those guys who killed Sia's security are telling people they're looking for Shaylynn," Hank tells him. Everyone looks at Halstead, "No one tells her! If she knows this she'll have her entire artillery out here." They all agree and heads in different directions. A couple of minutes later, Emily, Sam, Natalie, Shaylynn, who's carrying JJ, come out with Titus and Trinity. When they see everything, they take off screaming. "Knights, Princesses, and Dragons, the perfect theme for those two," Hank says as Shaylynn walks up to him. Shaylynn looks over to see Titus putting on a knight helmet then grabs a shield and sword, while Trinity puts on a tiara. Looking to the side she sees the cater has everything set up. Before she heads over there, Shaylynn sees Halstead has noticed his Dad has arrived. He starts walking over toward him, Shaylynn hurries and heads in that direction. "Jay, don't!" she tells him. "Why is he here?" he asks her. "I invited him," Shaylynn tells him, "Let's go over to him." They both walk over, "Dad," Halstead says. "Hello, Mr. Halstead," Shaylynn says. "Please, I told you to call me Pat," he tells her. "Would you like to hold your grandson?" Shaylynn asks him. He looks at Halstead, then looks back at her smiling, "Are you sure?" "If I wasn't I wouldn't have asked," Shaylynn tells him. She starts handing JJ over to him, "What's his name?" Pat asks. "Jay Jr.," she tells him, "We call him JJ." Pat looks at Halstead and smiles. Halstead has never seen his Dad like this. "Why don't you go over and join everyone else," Shaylynn tells him. Pat nods at her and starts walking away holding JJ. He sees Hank and walks over to him. Shaylynn looks at Halstead, "Don't start with me about inviting your Dad!" she tells him. Halstead grabs her and kisses her.
Time goes on. After everyone has eaten, Shaylynn looks around and thinks the adults are having more fun than the kids. She has caught Burgess, Upton, Atwater, and Halstead really having fun.
