Melanie Reed:

I missed you.  He has the audacity to say I miss you to me. I miss you. I fucking miss you. No.

I stood before him still tightly holding onto Harry’s hand. Aaron moved from his spot next to Hunter, and was stepping closer and closer to me. I instinctively moved a bit closer to Harry. He must have sensed this as he stepped over covering me completely as he said, “I don’t know who you are, but you better keep away from my girlfriend.”

Aaron didn’t care. He continued walking towards me and said, “Melanie? Would you please look at me? I want to talk to you. I uh, I’m sorry for what I did. You know I never meant to hurt you. I uh,”

“Oh you’re that Aaron. How could you have done something as terrible as hurting my Melanie? How dare you even try talking to her? You better stay away from her.” Harry responded not even allowing me the chance to say something myself.

“Well, who are you to try to tell me who she can and can’t talk to? Melanie isn’t one to allow others to make choices for her. If she wants to talk to me she will, so step aside.” My eyes went wide as I heard these words leave Aaron’s mouth. Its true what he said. I never did allow anyone to tell me who I can and can’t talk to, but in this case, Harry is right. I don’t want to speak with Aaron. I don’t want to. I vowed to myself I never would again.

I looked up over Harry’s shoulder, and Aaron made the mistake of reaching out for me, and Harry didn’t hesitate to attack him. His free hand made contact with the left side of Aaron’s face. Aaron fell back, and suddenly Harry was on top of him punching him like he had just tried to kill me or something.

I couldn’t move all I could do was stare at them on the damn ground. I was just in shock from what was going on. I was glad to see that Hunter immediately came to try and stop them. I didn’t want Harry to get into any trouble.

Hunter wasn’t much help. He had only distracted Harry giving Aaron enough time to finally fight back. He hit Harry hard across his face. It was hard enough that he had split his lip. Harry stumbled back a bit. Hunter took this time to try and stop Aaron, and Harry just stayed back a bit. I saw him getting up again. He was fuming. His hands closed tightly into fists causing his knuckles to turn white.

“Melanie, you’re the only one who can stop Harry. From what Hunter has told me, he never stands down from a fight. But you’ve connected with him in a way that I have with Hunter. He used to do the same thing, but I can stop him. Only me. You have to do the same for Harry.” Lily suddenly spoke, frightening me.

“Me? Why? How, how am I supposed to stop him?”

“Just talk to him. Trust me, it will work. It has to.”

I nodded and walked towards the corner where Harry was headed. I’m not really sure if it will work,  but I have to give it a shot. I don’t want Harry getting hurt or getting into any trouble. Lately, he’s been getting in so many arguments with other students and school officials. I don’t want him getting kicked out.

I took a deep breath and reached out to Harry. “Harry, love, you need to stop.”

He simply shook his head and continued walking. But the second my hand touched his shoulder, he froze. He still felt tense. “Harry, please.” At the sound of my voice, he relaxed.

“But he, he…” Harry began saying angrily.

“No Harry, please. Let’s go.” I said as I grabbed a hold of his hand.

“Fine. Let’s go.” He said to me and turned around to face Aaron once more, “you’re lucky she’s here. The next time you go near her, I will end you.”
