Eleanor thought long and hard about the letter she received off Hermione the next day at school.
She wasn't sure what possessed Hermione to do such a thing because Eleanor knew it was a bad thing to invade other people's things and privacy and yet only a few letters ago Harry had called Hermione one of his best friends. Hermione wasn't proving herself to be such a good friend at the moment, Eleanor thought to herself.
She also wasn't sure what Hermione meant in her letter.
'to ask how much he has told you or if you know anything at all. If you do not, ignore this letter and pretend it doesn't exist and if you do know something please send a reply back'
What shouldn't she know? What shouldn't have Harry told her? Harry hadn't told her anything. And how was she expected to ignore the letter and pretend it doesn't exist? Harry had called Hermione a genius but at that moment, Eleanor couldn't see what was so smart about her.
Eleanor could feel herself growing more and more frustrated with all the unanswered questions swirling around in her head. For some reason she couldn't concentrate at school that day and the letter was still bugging her by the time she sat down for lunch with Cass.
Eleanor found what was annoying her the most was surprisingly not all the questions as she hates not knowing things but the fact that she knows Harry has been lying to her and has been ever since the beginning.
At some point in their letter exchanges Eleanor liked to think of Harry as a friend but how could she now when everything could be a lie. His name might not even be Harry. She couldn't be sure of anything to do with him anymore and that irked her. It irked her more than it probably should have.
Eleanor had only ever had Cass in her life as her one and only best friend. She wasn't the greatest at making friends with her violent ways and snarky attitude so it was nice for a while to think that she was making another friend. But then he had to go and lie to her. And continue lying. It hurt Eleanor and she didn't quite know why, because they still didn't really know that much about eachother.
"Alright. I'm fed up now," Cass suddenly exclaimed, making Eleanor jump and drop her apple. "You've been like this all day! What's up? Why are you acting so stroppy?"
Eleanor sighed and rolled her eyes, annoyance bubbling up in her. "I'm not stroppy! I just don't feel well. I'm gonna go home I think."
What was the point in Eleanor staying anyway? It was not like she was taking anything in from class as she couldn't concentrate.
And before Cass could say anything, Eleanor got up and marched out the canteen.
She went to the nurses office and made up some bullshit excuse that she had really painful stomach cramps and she was free to go.
It wasn't until Eleanor got home, did she start to feel guilty about talking to Cass that way and just leaving her but she didn't dwell on it too much as she ran upstairs to her room and slammed the door shut.
She was home alone; her parents were still at work.
Eleanor got her paper and pen ready and began to write to Harry. She would just have to wait till Hedwig returned with another letter off Harry before she could send it off.
As she began her letter, she knew it was time to confront Harry about lying. She needed some answers and she needed them now even if it meant Harry would never speak to her again...
Then again, Hermione wouldn't have mentioned anything if it wasn't important...
(I'm really liking the way this story is going so far. I hope you guys are too. Until next time...)
