Dear the boy who wishes he hadn't seen that memory,
I'm sorry about landing you a detention, I'll refrain from expressing my opinion about your headmistress in the future, though I'm sure you already have a clear picture of what I would say right about now.
Like you said, at least you didn't have to actually do your detention with her and use her 'special quills.' I'm sure cleaning the trophy room was tedious and boring and probably hard work but at least you didn't have to write lines. Again, I apologise about landing you in detention, I know that's the last thing you need right now.
Yes, it makes perfect sense but what baffles me the most is how Hermione's brain works. I'd like to say I'm, as well as you and Ron, are fairly intelligent but god, we all look plain stupid next to Hermione. How she even had that brain wave to discover how 'the writer' was getting around the school is absolutely crazy to me.
First off I'm really not surprised that you got curious about something, you have never been able to stay away from something if it meant you got information out of it. Second of all, I'm glad that you missed Snape's lesson. Though of all the teachers to cross, you had to do it to the one who hates you about as much as Umbridge.
Well I shouldn't be surprised, you never listened to our warnings about Umbridge, and so I shouldn't have expected you to go back to the Common Room when you had the opportunity so freely given to you to glimpse at something that might allow you to one up Snape. Though you should have just gone back to the Common Room.
First of all I'd like to point out like you said, that your father was a teenager. Teenagers do stupid things all the time, so maybe it was just a one off.
That doesn't excuse what Snuffles and your father did, of course. Its horrible what they did, but at the end of the day things like that happen at my school all the time. It's sad but it's true. People get bored, so they make fun of people for entertainment.
I understand why this is obviously horrible for you to find out, after all Snuffles nor Moony ever gave off the impression that they were bullies. Troublemakers and prankster, certainly, but never bullies. And after all you've heard about your father, I'm not surprised its bothering you that the image you had of you father has been shattered so brutally.
Even I thought your dad seemed like a really cool and nice guy.
I'll reiterate that people do stupid things when they are young. Maybe your father and Snuffles were just showing off? After all, wasn't Snuffles, your father and Moony rather popular back in their school days?
As for your mother hating your father, people change. Your father obviously did change and become a better person and thats probably the person your mother fell in love with.
I know you know what it's like the be humiliated, and that's why I think this is bothering you so much. You know exactly what it's like to be Snape and you know exactly what it's like to have people attack you. I bet its hard for you to imagine that Snuffles and your father had done the attacking.
I could always try and talk to Snuffles and Moony for you and then somehow relay their message back to you somehow? Because I honestly can't think of a way for you to speak to them face to face unless you wait until the summer and I know right now that's the last thing you want to do.
We'll come up with something Harry. You'll get your answers.
But I warn you now, I know that Snuffles and Moony will flip when they find out you aren't having your lessons anymore. You need to try and get them back somehow. You NEED these lessons Harry, they are so important. And with Dumbledore gone, it's the only means of protection you have, you need to keep at those lessons. Promise me you will try and talk to Snape. I know you both hate eachother but you need this Harry, and I know full well everyone else would say the same.
We don't want you to spend extra time with Snape either because we know how cruel he is to you but we wouldn't make you do it if it wasn't so important. So talk to him. For me.
No I haven't told Cass about you. Not that I don't want to of course. Like she knows you and that we are dating obviously and I've shown her what you look like but she doesn't know your secret. I thought after all the trouble Dumbledore went through to make sure I wasn't Obliviated, it would be poor repayment to break the Statute of Secrecy or whatever it was.
I'll tell her eventually, when it's safe for me to do so.
Ron singed off an eyebrow too playing Exploding Snap? Wow, I'm going to be extra careful when I'm playing that game now.
Nevermind, I can imagine her face quite easily myself and yes, I imagine it was hilarious.
Good luck with all the homework.
Love,
the girl who thinks your father changed.
(Enjoy!)
