No Happy Ending

She can't lose him

Jessica's phone hasn't stopped buzzing. She reaches out her hand  and turns on the light, then answers the call.

"Hello?"

"Mrs. Huston?" a strange girl asks.

"Yes, it's me! Is something wrong?" Jessica speaks in a sleepy voice.

"Your husband had an accident. Now he's in the hospital and he's in a serious condition"

"What?! How did this happen?" Jessica's starting to breathe hard.

"I'll be there soon!" she's hanging up and getting out of bed. Tears flow down her cheeks and she starts almost running around the room, which is why the kids began to kick strongly

"Oh, okay, mommy's gonna be a little slower!" she puts her hand on her stomach.

After she got dressed she went into her sisters room and tried to wake them up.

"Ann! Jane! Wake up!"

"Hmm?..what happened, Jess?!"

"Oh, are you in labor?!" Jane jumps off the bed when she sees tears on her cheeks.

"No, no...it's Danny...Danny's in the hospital, he had an accident! Please, somebody take me to him!" she's leaning against the door, still crying.

"In the hospital? Ugh, he deserves it Jess!" Jane snaps.

"Jane!" Ann raises her voice by putting on a sweater.

"You know what Jane, I don't care what he did, Yes it hurt me, but he's the father of my children and I have to think about them first! I don't want him there alone, he needs support...I don't want him to die!" she's starting to sob.

"Aww Jessie, he's gonna be okay! Jane , you stay here, and Jessica and I are going to the hospital!" Ann hugs her sister and they walks out

"Sorry, Jess!" Jane yells

Jessica is not responding and continuing to go.

"Where's Mr. Huston? I am his wife!" Jessica asks in the registry

"room 5, Mrs!"

Jessica quickly walked down the hall and Ann ran after her

"Damn, Jessica, you're pregnant, you can not run like this!" Ann takes her hand.

"Here!" Jessica opens the door and they go into the room.

Danny is lying on the bed with his eyes closed. Many wires are connected to him and there are many wounds on his face.

"Oh, Danny!" Jessica strokes his cheek and forehead

"You'll be Okay! I promise!" she whispers, then closes her eyes and tears drip on his hand.

The doctor came in a few minutes later and told her what happened. Jessica was shocked and couldn't stop crying, Ann tried to make her comfortable, but nothing worked. Suddenly a terrible pain hit Jessica and she grabbed her stomach.

"You okay?" Ann asks worried.

Jessica grabs the edge of the bed, but when the pain goes away, she exhales and nods her head.

"I'm fine!"

Jessica could not sleep, she just held Danny's hand and looked at him. She can't lose him. She needs him, the kids need him...she can't do it without him.
Finally, she felt as he squeezes her hand.

"Danny?" a light smile appears on her face

"I...I'm s..sorry!" he barely whispers to her.

"No, no, you don't have to apologize! How are you feeling? should I call a doctor?"

Danny shakes his head " no"

"I..I'm fine!" he is trying to open eyes, but the forces did not allow him to do it.

"No, Danny! You need rest!" Jessica kisses his hand and smiles....
