No Happy Ending

50 years!

Monday

Jessica took a day off as it was the anniversary of her parents' wedding. She was still upset, but decided that help in preparing the big dinner would help her forget about it. The children did not understand what was happening between their parents, Jessica wanted to tell them, but there was still no moment.

After Breakfast, Jessica took Alicia and David to school.

"Mom, why can't we help grandma? Why should we go to school?" Alicia asks

"We already talked about it, Alicia!" she answers strictly.

"But we want to go to grandma's!"

"You're going to grandma's after school! And now you have a good day!" she stops near the school and they walk out, slamming the door loudly.

"They're mad!" Vivian whispers

"Well, that's their problem!"

"Mamaw! Papaw!" Vivien runs into the house and hugs them.

"Hi, honey" they're hugging her back.
Jessica closes the door and bends down to take off her shoes, but the zipper does not work.

"Damn it!" she said angrily and just shaking her leg, removes them.
"Okay, Jessica, it's okay....damn it, it's just shoes, what the hell are you mad at!?"she thinks to herself and goes to the living room.

"Who's the happiest married couple in the world? Congratulations!" she smiles, hugging her parents.

"Thanks, honey" Dorothy smiles.

"Dad?" she's giggling because he's not letting her go.

"Wait, I want to hug you longer!"

She closing her eyes. At that moment tears rolled down her cheeks and she did not know why. Just in her father's arms she feels safe, knowing that he will always protect her and help at any moment.

"I love you!" she whispers.

"I love you more, Princess!" he kisses her forehead.

Vivien hugs Dorothy by the leg, looking at them.

"I want to hug daddy too!"

Hearing this, Jessica's heart began to ache for her little princess.
She picks her up, kissing her on the cheek.

"You will, sweetheart!"

A smile appeared on Vivian's face and she giggled.

"Danny's bringing the kids from school?" Dorothy asks, Albert rolls his eyes.

"Danny's not coming!"Jessica puts Vivian on the floor and she runs to play.

"Did something happen?"

"Yeah, but I can't talk about it now...let's start cooking!" she claps her hands, going to the kitchen.

Jessica and Dorothy were cooking while Albert and Vivian were decorating the house.

"How long have you been married to mamaw?"

"50 years!" Albert smiles proudly.

"Wow, that's too much, I'm not ready for that!" she rolls her eyes and Albert laughs.

*the doorbell*

"Jane, Ann!" Jessica hugs them.

"OMG, we missed you so much!"

"I missed you too!"

"Aunt Jane, aunt Ann!" Vivien runs to them

"Vivian! Our little Princess!" they hug her.
