No Happy Ending

It will be a long day!

"Jessica, are you gonna sit in that chair all night long?!"

"Yes, Ann!" she keeps looking at Danny

"Are you crazy? You're pregnant!" she whispers louder.

"Ugh, Ann, I know! you don't have to keep reminding me!"

"Okay, but let me ask the nurse if they have rooms so you can lie down."

"No, thanks, but I'm fine!"

"Jess...."

"No! I'm fine!"

But the truth is, she's not fine. Mild pain in her stomach started a few hours ago, but Jessica decided not to say anything to her sister because it was too early.

Finally Jessica agreed to rest for a few hours, but she was unable to sleep because of the pain.

The next morning Jessica and Ann went home to take a few things as Jessica is going to stay with Danny.
When she told the children what had happened to him, they wanted to go to him, but Jessica promised that they would be able to do it later.

"Jess, are you okay? You don't look good!" Jane asks when she notices that Jessica is standing with her eyes closed, holding her stomach.

"Yes, Jane, of course, I'm okay! My husband in the hospital, I'm in pain but I'm fine! Hah, life is beautiful!" she rolls her eyes.

"Sorry!" Jane lowers her head and walks away.

"Jessica!" Ann yells from the kitchen

"What?!"

"From the hospital!" she runs to her and Jessica picks up the phone

"Yes?"

"Mrs. Huston, your husband in a coma..."

Jessica didn't hear the rest of what the nurse said. The phone fell on the floor, and tears flowed down her cheeks. The whole world stopped. Ann tried to calm her down, but Jessica was listening to her, but heard nothing. Finally she was hit with strong contraction and her water broke.

"Oh my God!" Ann and Jane speak in unison

"Aahhh! It hurts!" Jessica yells grabbing her stomach.

"Shhh, everything will be all right, Jessie!" Ann takes her hand.

"Jane, you call mom we need her then take the kids to the hospital! It's babies time!"

"Shut up and take me to the hospital! It really hurts" Jessica crying

Ann helps her get in the car and Jessica grabs her hand.

"Ann, no...I..I can't do this without Danny! I need him...my Danny, Ann!" she crys

"Jessie, you can do this! You're strong, everything will be fine! Danny's gonna be fine, and he's gonna be proud of you!" she kisses her sister on the forehead and get in the car.

It will be a long day!
