No Happy Ending

It started again

Two days later

"Wake up mommy! Mommy!" Agnes shakes Jessica and she slowly starts to wake up

"Hmm? What is it, honey?"she put her hand on her back

"Mommy, my heart hurts!" Agnes crying

"What? Oh lay down and I'll get you some medicine! Don't cry, baby!" Jessica lays her on the bed, then runs to the bathroom.

"Mommy!" Agnes starts crying harder.

"I'm here!" Jessica gave her the medicine then lay down beside her and started stroking her chest slowly, kissing her cheek

"Just relax, baby! Don't cry, everything will be fine, breathe with me and everything will be ok!"

Agnes began taking deep breaths with Jessica and soon calmed down.

"That's it, baby!" she kisses her. Agnes hugs her, her nose buried in her neck. Jessica covered them with a blanket and they fell asleep again.

"Mom, can I not go to school today?" Vivian leans on the hand holding in the other hand the spoon and playing with food

"Stop playing with food and no, you have to go"

"Ugh, I wish I felt as bad as Agnes!" Vivian says

"Don't say that, Vivian!" Jessica says sternly

"I'm not hungry!" Vivian get up from the table

Jessica took a deep breath, closing her eyes.

"Vivian, please sit down and finish your breakfast, stop throwing tantrums!"

"I don't want to!" Vivian runs into the room.

"Thank you, mom, for breakfast!" Jessica whispers rolling her eyes

"Mommy, why am I going to kindergarten, but Agnes isn't?" Abby crosses her arms, glancing sternly at her mother.

"Well, because Agnes not feeling well, so she stays home, and you feel just fine"Jessica picks her up

"But who am I gonna play with? Leo always plays cars!"

"Honey, you can play with Emily, you're friends with her"

"Yeah, but I don't want to play with her! Can I stay with Agnes? Please, mommy! You're the best mommy ever!" Abby hugs her neck and kisses her on the cheek

"Thank you baby but no!"

"Ugh...."

"Well, honey, do you want to stay with grandma today?"Jessica asks Agnes

"No! Daddy!"

"Okay, today is his day off, so you can stay with him!" Jessica starts the car

"You're not staying?" Agnes asks sadly

"I'm sorry, baby, I have an important meeting, but after that I'll come to you!" Jessica smiles at her in the rearview mirror and Agnes smiles back.

When they arrived at Danny's house, for the first time Agnes did not run to his door and did not begin to continually knock, she took Jessica's hand and they went to the house.

"Hi! I didn't know you were coming!" Danny lifts Agnes up and kisses her cheek.

"Why aren't you in kindergarten, baby?"

"Because it started again" Jessica put the bag on the table and began to get medicine

"What started?" Danny asks

"My heart hurts" Agnes says sadly, putting her hand on her heart.

"Oh, my little Princess!" Danny hugs her and kisses her cheek.

"But we'll make it all right again, won't we?" he smiles and Agnes nods back. Jessica starts crying and Danny tells Agnes to go play.

"Jess?"Danny puts his hand on her back.

"Why did it start again? They promised it would never happen again!" she's crying

"It's happened twice this morning and these attacks are stronger than they were then.....I'm scared for her, Danny!" she leans her head against his chest

"Shh don't cry, everything will be fine, Jess! If we managed to beat it that time then we can do it again! We will find the best doctors and no matter how much it costs, we will do our best to make her feel better!" he speaks in a soothing but shaking voice. Jessica wipes her tears

"If she doesn't get better by tomorrow, we have to go to the hospital! Please give her this medicine in half an hour and if she have another attack, put her on the bed and help her calm down, breathe with her and stroke her chest"

"Okay"

"And please call me!" she takes the bag

"I will"

"I'll be there in an hour and a half! Agnes, I'm leaving!"

"Bye, mommy! See you later" she waves to Jessica and she waves back, then goes to the car.
