No Happy Ending

She's in so much pain

"Danny! What happened to her?!" Jessica runs to him in tears.

"I don't know, Jess......I left them in the room for five minutes to make them tea, but then Abby came running to me and said  Agnes had fallen and didn't wake up..."

"My baby!" sobbing

"I shouldn't have left them alone! It's my fault!"

"No, it's not your fault!" she's stroking his back

"Where's Abby and Leo?"

"I left them with my mother!"

"Mr. and Mrs. Huston?"

"How is she?"

"I'm sorry, but your daughter has a big heart problem. We're assuming she has endocarditis."

"What's that? Is she going to be okay?!" Jessica asks holding back her tears

"It is an infective illness and it can be cured. Again, this is not an accurate result. Agnes is sleeping now, but when she wakes up, we'll check her again to determine exactly what happened to her"

"Can we see her?"

"Yes, but only one person can go!"

Jessica looks at Danny, he nods at her and she follows the doctor into the room

When Jessica went into the room, her heart broke from the pain, looking at her baby in this hospital bed.

"My baby, momy promises, you will be ok!" she takes her little hand and kisses her forehead, tears running down her cheeks.

Agnes moves a little in her sleep and slowly opens her eyes

"Mommy?"she asks in a weak voice.

"I'm here, baby!" Jessica whispers

"It hurts!" she cries and puts her hand on her heart

"Honey, I promise it will pass! I have to call a doctor!"

When the doctor came in, he checked Agnes once more and his guesses were correct.

"As we thought, your daughter has Endocarditis"
Jessica nods, letting him know she wants him to continue.

"Agnes has a heart murmur. It's one of the symptoms. For the treatment of this illness, she need to take medications for two weeks. We plan to keep her here for two weeks because she has a better chance of getting better under the supervision of doctors. I promise you personally that we will do everything possible to make Agnes feel better"

"Thank you, doctor" Jessica says in a shaking voice.

"I scared!" Agnes cries and reaches for her

"Mommy and daddy will be with you and we can make it up!" Jessica hugs her

They called the family and told them what happened. They were shocked and promised to pray for her

The next morning, the doctor checked Agnes again. After taking the pill, Agnes wanted to be hugged all day, of course Jessica loved to talk to her baby, but she felt that soon there will be something bad.

One night Jessica awoke because Agnes was moaning in pain in her sleep.

"Danny! Danny, Wake up!" she shakes him, crying.

"Hm? What's wrong?!" he jumps.

"She's in so much pain! Call a doctor!"

He gets up from the couch and runs to find the doctor while Jessica rushes to Agnes and tries to relieve her pain.

"My baby, you're so warm! It's gonna be okay, you're a strong girl, you can get through this!" she cries softly

When the doctors run into the room, they ask Jessica and Danny to leave the room

"Danny, our baby's in so much pain!" she cries with her head on his chest.

"She didn't deserve it! She's such a sweet and kind girl, why did this happen to her?"

"I don't know, Jess, but I'm sure she's gonna be ok!" he hugs him and tears running down his cheeks
