What are we going to do

Danny's POV

"Hey, baby!" Danny sat down next to Agnes on the floor

"Hey, daddy!" she climbed onto his lap, placing her hands on his cheeks. Danny hugged her, kissing her little hand

"What are we going to do?"

"Well, do you want to go to the Park or the Mall? We can go to your favorite store and I'll buy you whatever you want!"

"I want doughnuts" she smiled

"Doughnuts?! All right, little lady! Let's go!" he stood up with her and ran into the room making Agnes giggle.

Jessica's POV

She was sitting at a huge table together with her colleagues and tried to understand what they were talking about but all her thoughts were about Agnes. She nervously played with the pen and stared at the blank sheet of notebook.

"Jessica, do you want to take this case?" Sam asked leaning back in his chair

"..."

"Jess?"

"Jessica?!" Christina pushed her sideways

"Hmm? What?" Jessica looked at her then noticed glances of her colleagues

"You okay?" Sam asked

"Yeah I am... Did you ask something?

"I did. I asked if you'd take the case"

"Yes, of course"

"Great! Our meeting is over!" Sam closed his notepad.

Jessica put her things in the bag, then walked over to Sam.

"Can I leave earlier today?"

"Tell me what happened" Sam stood up and put his hands on her shoulders

"Agnes has heart problems, I'm afraid she'll be in the hospital again " she whispered taking his hand

"Look, my old friend is a doctor and he's one of the best. I'll give you his number and you can call him, he'll definitely help you!" Sam wrote a number on a piece of paper and gave it to Jessica.

"Thank you!" she smiled putting the paper in the bag.

"I'm sorry we haven't been together for a long time."

"It's okay!" he kissed her lips

"You can leave early today. I hope Agnes gets better soon!"

"Thank you!" Jessica smiled

Jessica came to the kids cafe where Danny and Agnes were eating donuts and when Agnes saw her she ran to her.

"Did you have fun with daddy?" Jessica kissed her on the cheek and Agnes nodded then placed her head on Jessica's shoulder.

"How was your meeting?" Danny asked when she sat down at the table.

"I have a new case so the month promises to be difficult!" she took a sip of Agnes  juice but she took it making Jessica giggle.

"Sorry, baby!"

Two days later

"Mommy, I don't want to go!" Agnes screamed and cried when Jessica walked with her to the hospital

"Baby, I know you don't want to but it'll make you feel better. I'll be with you, you won't be here alone!" Jessica came into the office

Agnes sat on Jessica's lap calming down a little and staring at the wall and her eyes almost closed. Jessica kissed her temple then laid her head on hers.

"Good afternoon, Miss Lange!" the doctor came in

"Good afternoon"

"The results came back and I have to say that Agnes needs to stay in the hospital. We will develop a special course of procedures for her and will do everything possible to make her illness receded forever"

"Thank you"

"It's my job! Your room is 209"

Jessica walked in the room with the sleeping Agnes as he sighed looking around the room. This room was much larger than the previous one and there were more procedural machines which meant that the coming months would be very difficult for them.
