No Happy Ending

But it was real

"No!! Try again!" Danny screamed

"Sir, I'm sorry"

"No! Agnes, please wake up! Please!" Danny held her hands, but she didn't move, so Danny fell next to her bed and couldn't hold back his tears. His little girl just died and it's not a dream. He couldn't believe it.

"Maybe there's something else you can do, doctor! Please don't let her die! Do something!" Jessica begged

"I'm sorry, mа'am, but we've done everything we can" the doctor said in a soothing voice

"This can't be...No...No...NO! Agnes! My little Princess" Jessica hugged her little lifeless body as the doctor decided to give them time to be alone with her

'Please open your eyes! You're still a little baby, how can this happen to you? Please, Agnes!" Jessica started crying harder, as she was hugging her daughter

"I love you very much and I will always be with you, baby!" she kissed her temple

"You are a very strong girl, I know that you are in a better place now and you no longer feel this pain, but how will I live without you?" Jessica looked at Agnes ' pale face and didn't want to let her go.

The moment the nurse took Agnes was the most difficult. Jessica sobbed and begged them not to take her away from her. Only Danny could stop her. He hugged her tightly as she buried her face in his shoulder, and he watched as his daughter was taken from him forever. He lowered his head as he began to cry.

A few hours later

Dorothy's pov

"Ah! Did you hear that?!" Dorothy smiled

"What?" Leo asked

"Yeah, what?" Abby repeated after him

"The car door, that means mommy daddy and Agnes are home!" Dorothy said in a cute voice
Jessica opened the door and they ran to their parents

"Mommy, daddy!"

"Hi, my babies!" Jessica hugged them

"Where's Agnes?" Abby asked

Jessica's eyes immediately filled with tears and she looked at Danny.

"We need to talk to you!"

"What happened?" Dorothy asked, sitting down on the sofa.

"Where's Vivian?"

"In her room"

"Viv, come down for a minute!" Danny yelled and she came down a few minutes later.

"I didn't know you were coming today! Where's Agnes?"

"Sit down" Danny pointed to the chair.

"Kids, we need to tell you something very sad.....I don't know how to say it, Danny! It's so hard" Jessica cried.

"Don't cry!" Leo put his hands on her cheeks

"Kids, Agnes....she...she's gone " Jessica began to sob. Dorothy put her hand on her chest and began to cry.

"What? But how?!" Vivian asked in a shaking voice.

"Her heart stopped this morning...."

"But I don't want Agnes to die" Abby started to cry and Leo looked at Jessica and his eyes filled with tears

"I know! I don't want this as much as you!" Jessica hugged them

This evening, Danny called Alicia and David as he told them about Agnes. Everyone were in deep sadness, no one expected this and this was very hard, especially for Jessica. She lost a piece of her world.

Three days later

"Jessica, we have to go!" Danny said
Jessica sat on the bed in a black dress and just stared at the floor.

"I don't want to go!"

"Jessie" Danny took her hand

" I can't. How I will look at her and know that I will never again hear her sweet voice, see her beautiful smile and hold her in my arms....I can't!"

"It's hard for me too..."

When they arrived, their families were already there all dressed in black. Sam was the first one she saw, so she fell into his arms as she started to cry

"I'm so sorry, Jessie" he said as he hugged her

Throughout the ceremony, Jessica couldn't stop crying, and neither could the children. No one could believe what was happening. It seemed like a dream. But it was real

The house was quiet, kids were in their rooms, and Jessica sat on the steps with no emotion. Alicia sat down beside her, then took her hand. She didn't say anything, just put her head on Jessica's shoulder and they sat listening to the sound of the rain hitting the window.
Now their life will never be the same
