No Happy Ending

When will daddy come home?

A few days later

Now Jessica and the babies were home. Jessica was glad that they were very calm and rarely cry. Vivian, Alicia and David were happy with them and spent almost all their free time looking at them and talking to them.

It was Saturday. Jessica was making dinner while the kids watched the babies in the living room. When someone knocked on the door, she thought it was Dorothy, because she was coming in every other day to help her, but when she opened the door she couldn't believe her eyes.

"Hi!" Sam says smiling.

"Sam...Hey"Jessica seemed to have fallen into a trance and not realize what was happening.
When the pause dragged on, she opened her mouth but could not say words.

"You okay?" Sam asks excitedly.

"Hm? Oh Yes! Yeah...I just thought it was my mom....Oh, come in!" she gives way to him.

"I just came to congratulate you! Now you're the mother of six!"

"Thank you! Omg six kids, that sounds crazy! Want some tea?"

"Sure! Oh, Jess, I almost forgot! Our friendly team decided to make you a gift!"

"What? Why, Sam? You shouldn't have"

"Hey! I'll get the box now!"

When Sam put the big box on the table, Jessica put one hand on her chest and the other closed her mouth. She thanked him and started looking at things, after they went to the kitchen and Sam told her what was going on at work.
Sam stayed until lunch and then left.

"Hey my loves!" Jessica's coming to the babies

"Time to eat!" she giggles as Agnes kicks her legs.

"Oh, Agnes is starving, right?" she speaks in a sweet voice and takes her in her arms. Leo looks at her and starts to cry making Abby cry too.

"Oh, no, no, don't cry...enough food for everyone!" she takes Leo

"Mom, I'll help!" Alicia takes Abby

"Thanks, honey!" she's smiling.

When all three ate, Jessica and Alicia changed their diapers and tried to put them to bed.

"Mommy, when will daddy come home?" Vivian whispers.

"I don't know, honey, but I hope very soon!"she's smiling.
