Chapter 11

"Why doesn't Polaris like nicknames?" 

Hawak ni Itsuki ang kamay ni Nicole habang naglalakad sila sa Q.C. Circle, doon siya dinala ng mga kasama niya. Mas malapit daw kasi ang QC kesa sa Luneta kaya dito muna siya inilibot ng mga dalaga.

Lumingon si Itsuki sa kanilang paligid. Kanina pa siya hindi mapakali, para bang may taong sumusunod sa kanila.

Si Kinjiro kaya?

Nicole suddenly tightened her grip on Itsuki's hand, dahilan para malimutan ni Itsuki ang kanyang iniisip at tignan ang dalagang kasama niya. Nicole was staring at their two other companions, Pandora and Polaris. Polaris was sitting on a somewhat swing set slash exercise machine, texting on her phone, while Pandora was at her side, forcing the girl to talk to her.

"Astrid has... problems," Nicole answered.

"Yeah, she has problems! She's a cold little--" Itsuki suddenly caught himself. He shouldn't curse. That wasn't what the sweet, innocent Itsuki would do.

"... girl..." Itsuki ended his sentence with a pause, looking unsure. Nicole just sighed as she continued to stare at both of her friends.

"They're both special to me, you know?" Nicole whispered, leaning into Itsuki's arms. Itsuki sighed as he held her chin with his other hand, forcing her to face him.

"Hey, don't frown. I don't like seeing you sad. Smile, okay? I'm here, and I promise to make you happy." Itsuki suddenly kissed Nicole's forehead, making her blush.

"Why me?" Biglang tanong ni Nicole. She was extremely bothered. Sobrang bilis ng mga pangyayare. They just met!

Itsuki chuckled at the way Nicole looked, causing her to frown even more. Minasahe ni Itsuki ang nakakunot na noo ni Nicole sabay halik nanaman dito. Nicole stared at him, hindi na ito magpapadala sa mga halik ni Itsuki Sakamachi

"Have you ever gotten that sudden urge to protect someone?" Itsuki asked, as Nicole stared at him, waiting for his full answer. When Nicole didn't reply, nag patuloy sa pag salita si Itsuki.

"When I saw you that day, you looked like a frightened little girl. It made me want to protect you. Then you talked to me in the infirmary. You were... What was that Filipino word? Masungit and palaban! I instantly like you then and there!"

"You like your girls masungit and palaban?" Nicole chuckled, as Itsuki scratched the back of his neck.

"Yeah, I do. What's wrong with that?"

"Do you really like your woman feisty, Itsuki?"

Biglang may nag salita sa gilid ni Itsuki, sumulpot bigla si Kinjiro Sakamachi, ang nakakatanda niyang kapatid.

I knew it! Someone was following us!

Kinjiro smiled at Nicole, making her hide behind Itsuki. Naaalala niya si Kinjiro sa mukha, siya ang lalakeng nagiiskandalo sa floor nila noong nakaraang araw. Ang nakakatandang kapatid ni Itsuki at isa sa mga nagmamay-ari ng condo na tinitirhan nila.
