18.| Finding Her

ChengCheng's POV

That night. Barely anyone went to sleep.

The councillor sent out a search team for her. The whole time I couldn't stop thinking about her. I couldn't stop thinking of where she could be.

"ChengCheng-ah. Why don't you go eat or something?" Seohyun suggested. She circled her arms around mine. But I pushed her away.

I was staring at the moon, not in the mood to talk, nor even look at her.

"ChengCheng-ah..." She whined again.

"Did you do it?"

She stopped talking.

I knew something was up.

"You... Did you do something to Yuejia?!" I half yelled. She shook her head. "Course not!" I stood up and looked down at her.

"When I find Yuejia and find out what happens to her, don't you dare ever talk to me, ever. Again." I warned before getting up and leaving her behind.

"Fan ChengCheng." I was suddenly pushed into the wall with someone holding onto my collar. I quickly regained my vision.

"L-Ling Chao?"

"Where is Yuejia?"

I tried to push him off, but he gripped and held on tighter.

"I saw you talking to Seohyun. She must've told you about her!"

I removed his hands away from my collar and looked at him in the eye. "If she did! I wouldn't be standing here, having this talk with you, but I would be looking for her right now."

Ling Chao didn't speak after that. I "tch" at him before leaving. I walked over to Justin and the rest, seeing them crossing their arms and leaning against the trees.

"What the hell did she say to you?" Zeren hissed. I just shrugged back. "She just wanted me to go eat with her."

"Tch. I don't know how the hell your still talking to her... like why haven't you left her sad depressing ass yet?" Justin added, making Zhengting smack his head loudly. "Who the fuck taught you how to talk like that?!"

"Geez. I wonder who."

"Don't use that fucking tone against me," Zhengting argues back. Making us all snicker, while Justin stayed silent.

"But, hey... Justin isn't wrong. Why are you still with her, even though you hate her?" Xinchun asked, nudging my arm.

I knew the answer to this question. Very well actually. But I just really don't want to say it out loud.

"Dude. Tell us." He repeated.

"I only dated her... because she was there for me when Yuejia and I broke up... and I also wanted to make Yuejia jealous. So I dated her rival."

After I said that, Zhengting-ge smacked my head.

"Ah!!! What was that for?" I screamed, rubbing my head in circles.

"Because you dated a monster! Just because you wanted to piss off your ex! Are you dumb?!" I avoided all of there gazes.

"Look... all I'm saying is. If anything happens to Yuejia, it will also be yours and Seohyun's fault!" Zeren said before walking away, along with the others.

I slide down and leaned down against the tree trunk. I know their right. If anything did happen to her, it would be partially my fault.

That whole night. I barely slept. I stayed up and sat outside watched the bond fire slowly burn out, along with waiting for any news about Yuejia.

Still, there was nothing.

That was when I decided to go out and look for her myself. I told Justin and Wenjun-ge that I was going to go look for Yuejia.

They, of course, didn't like the idea one bit. But I explained to them that if this was partially my fault that she's missing, I should be the one be the one to bring her back.

I waited till there was no one looking so I could leave the campsite. Finally when there was no one I quickly ran off, when I was pulled back. I was so close to being tripping over myself when I grabbed onto a nearby tree.

"Where the hell do you think you're going?"

"You again.?" It was Ling Chao. I was seriously getting annoyed of seeing him everywhere now.

"Let go of me," I demanded. Still, he was being a bitch and didn't.

"Where are you going?" He repeats himself again. I pushed him off and began to walk as I answered his question.

"I'm going to look for Yuejia." I still felt his presences. I had assumed he was following me.

"Wait."

I halted and turned on my heel, looking back at him and his dumb gaze. "What?"

"Why are you looking for her? I thought you hated her."

"Well, you thought wrong."

"So does that mean you still like her?" I scoffed at his question.

"What if I do?" I began to walk closer towards him. "So what if I still like her?" I said again, poking his chest at every word.

"Tch... fine. Whoever finds her first, gets her." He challenged, making me smirk. "Your quite confident Ling Chao."

"What? You scared?"

"Why? I already know who's gonna win." I asked back.

"Then what do you say?"

I thought for a bit before answering.

"Challenge accepted."
