43.| Unhappiness

Your POV

I slammed the door on ChengCheng, covered my mouth with my sleeve and slowly slid down the door. My eyesight began to get blurring, and before I knew it. I was crying. 

"Yuejia! W-What's wrong? Why are you crying??" Yorong asked, before running down beside me. I wrapped my arms around her and cried silently. 

"Yuejia-ah. Talk to me." She pleaded. But I still continued to cry. Soon, we were all sitting on the couch; the 3 of them calmed me down and now I was ready to talk. 

"Now your done crying... Wanna tell us why?" LouLou spoke first. 

I inhaled sharply, "When I left to go out to clear my head, YangYang came and talked. He dropped me home and ChengCheng was sitting on the steps. He wanted to talk to me about why I didn't wait for him. And it brought back memories of why I tried to wait, and why I ended up stopping."

They all nodded in understanding. 

"Yuejia... forgive me if I'm asking too much-" Jiang starts. "-But did you even wait for ChengCheng... and why did you end up choosing YangYang?"

I smiled sadly. "I did wait... But I was basically walking through a dark endless tunnel with no light. I didn't know when he would come back. I didn't even know if he was still single. I just... I tried my best to think about the best, thinking he would come back and we can start over again. But months turned into years. I haven't heard from him for over 3 years. While at that time... YangYang started to pursue me."

"Wait, wait, wait. He had a crush on you first?"

"I guess so. I mean. At that time, Ruibin, Yanjun and I just started working in our new jobs. I was focused on that more than who was crushing on me... besides, at the time I was still thinking about ChengCheng. And after 2 years of him, giving me flowers, writing me love letters, and taking me out to dinner... something changed." 

Jiang raised her brow. "What changed?"

"She means... she finally opened up and accepted YangYang." Yorong clarifies while I nodded along. 

"Yeah..."

"Yuejia... why did you make him wait so long?"

"I was afraid if I would date YangYang... ChengCheng would come home. So I continued to hold on, hoping that he might just show up one day. And like I said, 5 years went by with nothing. Funny right? My biggest fear came true. The moment I accept YangYang. He comes back. Truly bad luck." I sighed. 

"Yuejia. It's not bad luck. It's bad timing." LouLou says. 

I rolled my eyes. "Same difference."

"Do you actually like YangYang?..." Yorong asks. 

I smiled bitterly. "I feel guilty saying this but... in the beginning I liked him, but I also used him get the feeling of love. But slowly my heart actually opened up for him. So yes. I do like him. Love?" I chuckled. "I don't know yet."

The next morning I woke up, made breakfast for the girls and headed out early. I didn't want to run into anyone. Especially ChengCheng.
