Your POV
The next few days weren't pretty for ChengCheng. His sister was taken to jail for a few days. But got bailed out. She was banned from acting for a year, due to the news and impact that China has taken.
I tried to call ChengCheng, asking if he's doing better, or he wants to talk. But it always went to voicemail. It's to the point now that this voicemail is full, so theirs no point on calling anymore.
While at school... Well, we didn't attend school for about a week or 2.
Was I worry? YES!
But at the same time... I knew what he- well, I sorta knew what he was going through, like how my baba died. I was distant. I wanted to focus on other things to get my mind off things. But I wasn't cutting everyone out of my life. Unlike him, he actually didn't talk to any of the boys, not even Justin or Zhengting-ge... he really just cut them out.
Oh, to add to my very angry and pissed off moment. We had to perform our school play without him. And someone else had to play his role and boy... was it weird and uncomfortable. He also wasn't very good at his lines. So like everyone in the damn crowd was cringing every time he would speak... but no offence to him.
Anyways... I heard that he was coming to school today from Mrs. Fan and some other students, and I intend on talking to him.
"Ei! Zhen Yuejia!" Lin Yanjun called. I stopped and waited for him to catch up to me before we both walked side by side together.
"What's up?"
"ChengCheng... you know he's coming back to school today right?" He asks. I nod.
"Well... you have class with him as well right?"
I nod again.
"Can you bring him to us once lunch starts. We all need to talk to him about somethings."
"If you're going to pressure him about ignoring you guys, then I want in."
"Even better. I'm sure he would actually listen to you as well."
"Tch, yeah. I hope so. Also," I started before changing the topic. "Can you and Yorong like... I don't know. Date already? Like I've seen you guys run around the school. It's exhausting to watch." I finished while Yanjun stood there with his face gawking away while I headed off to the first period.
And the rumours were right. ChengCheng was at school and he's sitting at his desk with his head resting against the desk. I heard people whisper to one another, so me, still being one of the most popular seniors in school. I told them to shut the hell up.
They all froze up and stopped talking while I walked over to my seat and sat down. ChengCheng made small movements until class started.
After the second period was over and lunch started we all packed up except for him.
I pretended to leave the class, but I stayed at the door and waited.
When he came out, I grabbed his hand and dragged him to where the boys were gonna meet him.
"Ei! Yuejia! Let me go!" He yelled in a low tone voice. But I didn't listen and kept on dragging him along.
When we made it, the 8 of them were standing and waiting for us.
"What the hell is this?" He mutters.
"We need to talk." Xukun says first.
"About what?"
"You." Zhengting butted in.
ChengCheng didn't act like himself. He... he acted very rude.
"Whatever, hurry up so I can leave."
We all looked at one another and thought that this isn't going to end well.
"Where the hell have you been these past 2 weeks?" Ziyi questioned.
"Yeah! We tried calling you man." Linong adds.
The 9 of them tried to talk some sense into him, while I stood there with my arms crossed and listened.
"Look, just get off my back! I have some family shit to deal with and I don't need you guys to be another one of my problems too."
I was in total shock... I couldn't believe he had actually said those things. To his closes, bestest friends...
"Fan ChengCheng!" I yelled.
"What?" He faces me. "Am I wrong?"
"Yes! They are just trying to help you! Why the fuck are you pushing them away?!"
"Because they're getting in my way!"
"So when my baba died and you kept following me around and trying to help me... were you getting in my way then?"
He didn't say anything for a little bit. I really hoped he would take back his words but instead, he said this...
"I guess I was."
Suddenly... but mind stopped. Like it was a blur. It felt like a betrayal, but not really.
ChengCheng soon left and headed back to class, while the rest of us were still in shock...
"I think we lost him, guys."
"Ya think?" Xiao Gui commented.
"I wonder what happened in those 2 weeks to make him so angry and distant towards us." Linong said out loud.
As for me... I kept quiet.
I kept on thinking about what's going to happen in the next few months, now that the end of the school year is coming, along with our graduation ceremony... I wonder if he'll even attend it.
