The next morning, Doc arrives just as I get out of the shower. Quickly throwing on faded blue jeans and a tee shirt, I go downstairs to meet him. His stern look reminds me of the fact that I told him I wouldn't walk on my leg, even if it felt completely healed.

"Sorry," I apologize sheepishly. "I kinda forgot about what you told me.."

"It's alright, Luna. I'm sure you were quite distracted." Doc's eyes flit down to my neck and back, and he chuckles. I blush a little, but he turns away and beckons me into the living room without noticing. Asking me to lay on the couch, he gently presses against my right hip. I'm happy to say it doesn't hurt when he does it, it just feels weird.

"It seems as though it's healed," he murmurs. "You're free to walk around and shift at your leisure, Luna. Just please be careful."

I grin, sitting up. "I will. Thanks, Doc."

He tells me it's not a problem, and I walk with him outside of the house. As he gets in his car, I wave, eyes following him as he drives out of the neighborhood. Going back inside, I walk up the stairs and into my room in search of shoes. While I'm digging around my closet, I hear someone approach me from behind.

"Yes?" I call out. Sniffing, I relax when I realize it's only Delilah.

"Where are you going?" she asks me. I feel her blue eyes on my back as I carefully extract a pair of black flats from my jumble of shoes. Sliding them on, I turn around to see her in a cute, but very short white dress. She's layered a black leather jacket over it, and her eyes are lined with dark liner. Her bare feet trace patterns in the carpet as she waits for my response.

"I'm going to drive around and see if anyone's hiring," I tell her. "So I don't have a real destination in mind. Why, did you wanna come with me?"

She turns her nose up at the word hiring. "No, it's okay. When you're free though, come find me. I want to talk about that."

I blush, running my hand over my right neck. "Yes, well, we can talk about it when I get back."

She smirks, giving me a knowing look. Her phone beeps obnoxiously, and I watch as she reads what's on the screen. Not really concerned, I grab my purse and keys, shutting my bedroom door behind the both of us. She walks down the stairs with me, only she's keyless.

"I thought you didn't want to come with me?" I ask her, confused. At the door, she slides into a pair of black booties, giving her extra height.

"Change of plans," she responds airily. "I was wondering if you could give me a ride to Adrian's, though. I can tell you where it is - I need to talk to him."

"Um, okay," I say. "I can drop you off, I guess."

We both make our way to the car, and she slides into the passenger seat. Soon, she's directing me a little ways out of the neighborhood. Before I forget, I mention to Zack that I'm going out through our mind link, but he doesn't reply. I don't dwell on it -- I know how wrapped up he can get between being an Alpha and managing the pack's company.

Delilah directs me to Adrian's house. It's much smaller than the pack house, but it's still pretty nice. The craftsman style house appears to be about three stories, with a two-car carage. It has a wrap-around porch and lots of windows, with decorative black shutters that match the blue paint. I note that Adrian lives in a residential neighborhood as I watch children walk home from school on the white sidewalks.
