*Y/n's POV*
Today was the day you started moving into your new house. With the help from your parents, they had arranged it so that way all you had to do was meet the movers at your new home. That way you didn't have to worry about loading the moving truck...but that didn't mean you didn't have to worry about unpacking everything. You hated unpacking the boxes since you were the only one doing it even though a couple of your friends offered to help you out. You made sure each box was labeled before it was loaded into the truck. You were standing in the living room, looking at all the boxes you had packed. You counted at least twenty boxes. "Looks like mom was right. You bring in more stuff than what your had originally brought with you in the first place," Y/n tells herself outloud. You start by taking the boxes labeled 'Kitchen' into the dining area. The dining area already had the furniture in it that you needed. A small kitchen table with enough to seat two people. A wine rack that you were planning on using as a plant stand since you really didn't like the taste of wine. The kitchen already had a dishwasher, an oven, and plenty of cupboard space for all the groceries that needed to be put away. You had bought yourself a microwave two weeks before you had to move since you wanted to get yourself one instead of the year old one your mom wanted to give you. After spending the first hour unpacking all of the dishware, food, and glasses, you decide to go explore the backyard. You open the door to the back patio and step out.
"Meow?"
Confused, you look for the source of the meow. You head down the steps of the patio and look around.
"Meow?"
You try to look for the cat but decide to play a different tactic. You sit down on the grass and start making chortling sounds like a cat would when it would talk to its kittens or to its human. After about ten minutes you see a cat come out of the bushes. Once it was close enough for you to let it, you kinda felt your heart drop. It was a very scruffy Persian that was in dire need of a good brushing and a bath. "Looks like I have a cat now. Good thing mom packed a bag of cat food for me even though I told her not too." Y/n stands up and picks up the Persian into her arms, who decided to reward her with a very loud purr. "Lets see what else I we can find, shall we?" Heading further into the backyard, Y/n finds a decent sized swimming pool and a tree house. "Looks like the previous tenants had kids before they moved out." Y/n sets the Persian down and looks down at the cat. "Stay," Y/n says in a firm voice to the voice to the Persian. The Persian chirps at Y/n before she starts climbing up the ladder of the tree house. Once she gets to the top of the ladder, Y/n could see that it was a decent sized tree house, with enough room for her to stand up in. She looks around and sees that the previous tenants kids had left behind a few toys as well as two beanbag chairs. She frowns at the thought at a kid leaving behind their favorite beanbag chair or any of their toys. After looking around for a few more minutes, she climbs back down to the ground. She picks up the Persian into her arms once again. "How about we give you a bath and feed you. After that we can try to figure out a name for you." Y/n scratches the Persian under its chin, earning herself another loud purr from the scruffy feline. A bit later that day, once Y/n had got the Persian bathed as well given a hair cut and food, she heads upstairs to get her bedroom unpacked. After giving the Persian his bath, Y/n figured out the Persian was a he, she pondered over what name to give the loving feline. "I wonder what name you'd like." She pulls out a set of bed sheets from one of the boxes and starts to put the fitted sheet onto her bed. The Persian decided to join in and 'help' his human out by getting under the fitted sheet before Y/n could get the last two corners onto the bed. "Get out from under there you fluffy little shi...." Y/n gets cut off when her cell phone starts to ring. She pulls it out of her pants pocket and answers it. "Hello?"
"Hi sweetie. It's your mom. Just wanted to check in on you. Did the movers do their job and help move in the furniture and boxes? Did your friends help you out any?"
"Yes the mover did finish their job and no my friends didn't help at all. In fact the didn't even bother coming at all. They both called and told me that the both couldn't come, saying that they were out of town for the next few days. It was the same damn excuse, mom."
"I had a feeling that would happen. So did you get cat yet?"
Y/n could hear the excitement in her mome voice on the other end of the phone line. "Why don't you see for yourself." Y/n make it so her phone was set on video call. She waves at her mom before pulling back the fitted sheet showing her mom the black and white Persian.
"He's so cute. Looks like you had to give him a shave though."
"Yeah I had to. His fur was matted and full of knots. I'm guessing the previous tenants of this house left him behind. But I'm taking care of him now so he'll..." Y/n gets distracted when she hears the door bell ring. "Gotta go mom. Talk to you later." Y/n hangs up the phone after her mom says goodbye to her. Y/n heads downstairs and to the front door. She opens it and was surprised to see to men standing outside her front door step.
"Welcome to the neighborhood," said one of them with a smile. One of the men was kinda short. Y/n guessed he was about 5'3". He had long grey hair which was tied back into a pony tail. He was also wearing a green t-shirt and black jeans.
"I dont even see the point of welcoming her to the neighborhood," snarls the other.
Y/n kinda had to looks up at the other because of how tall he was. She guessed he was about 6'2". He was wearing a brown t-shirt with tan colored stripes. Jeans with grey and gold. As well as he was wearing calf high tan colored boots with white stripes on them. He had long dirty blond colored hair tied back in s pony tail as well. But what Y/n found odd was that he had a sword and scabbard strapped to his him. "Who are you guys?" Y/n asks.
"I'm Rattrap and this is my roommate, Dinobot. Or as I like to call him sometime Chopper Face," said Rattrap with a chuckle as he introdues Dinobot.
Dinobot growls "Like I said a waste of time," he growls. "I'd rather be back home playing ARK before my base gets attacked again."
"Quit your bellyaching, will ya? Just thought it would be polite to welcome our new neighbor," said Rattrap.
"It's kinda a bad time for me to have guests over anyways. I'm in the middle of unpacking the rest of the boxes." Y/n scratches the back of her head, kind of embarrassed she already had guests over when she was barely a day living in her new house.
"If you want, we can help you finish. Dinobot and I have time to kill before the others get home. Besides it would be a good opportunity to get to know you better." Rattrap offers his right hand to Y/n to shake. "Like I said welcome to the neighborhood."
"Thank you for the offer. I'd be glad for some help though..." Y/n shakes Rattrap's hand and looks over to Dinobot who was busy giving her the death glare. "How about this. I'll feed you guys and then we can finish unpacking the boxes I have left."
"You got yourself a deal," said Rattrap with a smile.
