Road Trip (Part 4)

*Y/n's POV*
*dreaming*

It was three o'clock in the morning when Y/n wakes up. Not from a night terror or nightmare, it's just some odd reason she felt like she was being watched. She tries to get up but finds herself pinned to the bed in Dinobot's embrace. She blinks the sleep from her eyes, trying to figure out what is going on. She turns over in the bed and gets the shock of her life. Dinobot was sound asleep next to her. He looked peaceful but even that peace can be ruined. She rolls back over to her side of the bed, grabbing her cellphone. She sees its three in the morning. "Its the haunting hour," she groans. All around her the room begins to change. Things become distorted and melt together. When things start become clearer, she finds herself in the woods, alone in the dark. She looks around in confusion, becoming quickly aware of the impending nightmare. Plus she no longer felt alone anymore, feeling a presence behind her. She slowly turns around and sees Dinobot standing next to a tree, in his robot mode, with  his claws digging into the tree bark. Y/n could tell something was wrong.

"Dinobot?"

Dinobot growls, baring his sharp teeth, while digging his claws deeper into the bark of the tree. He speaks but Y/n is unable to hear what he says.

"What?!"

"Run!" Dinobot growls as his appearance begins changing, becoming more nightmarish by the second. By the time his appearance was done shifting, he was no longer recognizable. The one she loved, the one she was scared to tell she loved, was more monster-like now. He no longer appeared techno-organic, more robot like. Purple metal on his chest which covered his spark chamber. Long arms ending in razor sharp claws, the middle claw being the longest. Facial features no longer recognizable, with one organic eye and one robotic eye. Tail swishing to and fro, skeleton-like ending in a blade like appendage. His feet had two toes on each foot, both with razor sharp claws as well.

"Dinobot?" Y/n asks again.

"Dinobot Terrorize!" Dinobot growls and snarls as he transformed into his beast mode, which appeared more to be be like a skeletal robotic Velociraptor. No longer sharp teeth in his mouth, four long sharp metallic fangs, snapped together. "Run!"

Y/n turns and runs. She doesn't get far when she ends up falling to the ground. The last sight she sees is Dinobot leaping into the air, mouth open, preparing to deliver the killing blow.....

*end of dream*

Y/n bolts upright with a start from her nightmare. For once she didn't wake up screaming, which would have been bad for she most likely would have woken up everyone in the hotel. She looks over at her phone and it reads five in the morning. "Might as well start the day then," she mumbles to herself as she gets out of bed. She looks over and sees Dinobot still asleep. Even with a weak bond they shared, even though they still needed to complete the spark bond, Y/n could tell that Dinobot was resting peacefully. As she was about to get out of bed, she is suddenly hit by cramps which could only mean one thing. "Ow...."

"You okay?" Dinobot mumbles sleepily.

"I'll be fine. No worries."

"You don't sound fine and you don't feel fine. What the hell is going on?!"

Y/n looks back at Dinobot. "Have you ever studied human biology? Especially on women?"

"It can't be that time of the month for you already? Is it?"

Y/n groans in pain as she feels another set of cramps. "Let's just say these cramps are an early warning sign."

Dinobot pulls the blanket back over his head. He was in no mood to deal with this, let alone mood swings. Y/n's mood swings the last time got out of control, even scaring Megatron once when all he did was ask her how her day was going. "I'll drive the truck today. I know you wanted to drive but I don't want you getting road rage just because of that."

"You do have a point," said Y/n.

The rest of the drive to Y/n parent's house was spent in silence. Dinobot decided to stop at a pharmacy along the way to buy some Tylenol to help get rid of the cramps. Even though he didn't tell her, he didn't like seeing her in pain or feeling it in the matter of the still forming bond between them.

*Dinobot's POV*

It was late when they pulled up into the driveway of Y/n parent's home. It was already getting dark and the lights in the home were just starting to come on. A porch light flickers to life as Y/n's dad steps out to get them, even though he wasn't too thrilled at his daughter bringing home another man. He was worried Dinobot would be like her ex. He walks up to the truck and Dinobot could tell that he could be pretty scary if he wanted to.

"So you must be my daughter's new boyfriend? Names Edward. What's yours?" Y/n's dad, Edward, asks as he holds out his hand for Dinobot to shake.

"Names Dinobot. It's good to finally meet you, sir," said Dinobot as he shakes Edward's hand.

"So where you are from? Are you from the same city my daughter moved to?"

Y/n puts a hand on Dinobot's shoulder. "He is. He's actually my neighbor. Long story as to how we met."

"I'll see you both in the kitchen after you are done unpacking. Your mother has dinner waiting for you."

"How's Nick doing?" Y/n asks.

"He's asleep right now because of his pain meds. I'll tell you the full story as to what happened over dinner," said Edward before he heads inside.

Dinobot glances over at Y/n before looking back at her father. "He scares me."

"Yeah well you'd put on the intimidation factor too if you knew your daughter's last boyfriend was an abusive...." Y/n shakes her head. "Let's not dwell on the past. We need to unpack. I know my mom and brother would want to meet you as well. Also don't worry about my dad. He's nice once he gets to know you better." Y/n walks around to the back end of the truck, unlocking the tailgate.

Dinobot watches her grab one of the suitcases before heading inside. He takes a deep breath to calm his nerves. Here he was, a warrior by heart: one who follows a code of chivalry and honor, is scared by his girlfriend's father. "Hes probably got a few war stories to tell about himself." Dinobot grabs the last two suitcases and heads inside, steeling his nerves to prepare himself for an onslaught of questions from Y/n's mom and dad, as well as her brother too, that is if he was up to the task since even Dinobot doesn't know what happened to him. All he knows is what Y/n told him of what she found out from her mom. But what worries him the most, is what if Y/n's family won't accept him for what he was, a Cybertronion from the planet Cybertron. He stops before the front door and mentally shakes the worries from his mind. He was now prepared for whatever is to come when he first meets Y/n's family.
