Melting a Heart of Ice (Beast Wars Dinobot AU x Female Reader)

*time skip six months*

Time goes by and soon it was October. Y/n's relationship with Dinobot has stayed as friends despite the fact that they got along like oil and water some days, it nothing worse than a few bad arguments. Y/n managed to get a job at the same cafe that Dinobot worked at, much to his displeasure. But he soon realized that Y/n was a hard worker and reliable at her job. There were some days where they were short a person or two and she would offer to help out.

*Y/n's POV*

It had been a rather uneventful day at the cafe, until a rather unruly customer came in. Y/n takes the customers order as usual but it wasn't until he got his order, claiming it was the wrong order. So Y/n remade the order, it was a latte with half skim milk, half whole milk with a shot of sweetener and a shot of juniper berry syrup. So when she brings the remake back to the customer, he still denies it was his order and demands her to remake it. So she goes back to the manager and tells him what happens. The manager tells Y/n that he will deal with the customer, which he does. Y/n was in the back when she hears the customer yelling at the manager. Turns out the customer was told he would get charged for the second remake, even though his order was made correctly. So a while later, after what Y/n assumes that customer had left, she was bringing an order out to a customer, two coffees and three scones, the unruly customer was still out there. He was sitting in a booth with his back towards Y/n. So when he sees her about to walk by, he trips her, causing her to spill the order during her fall. Dinobot sees it happen and rushes over to her to help her back to her feet. At that point he berates the customer for his actions, even though the guy flat out denies it. Dinobot ignores the guy as he helps Y/n to the back. As it turns out, because of the customers actions, Y/n got burned by the coffee on her arms, chest, and a bit on her neck. Luckily for her the coffee didn't get her face. So Y/n got sent home early for her injuries but as it turns out, she had to go to court in a few days to testify against the customers actions against her.

Meanwhile Y/n was at home, bored out of her mind. It hurt for her to move because of the coffee burns. Dinobot had left to get bandages and aloe vera gel for the burns. So while she waited for him to come back, she decided to watch TV. After about ten minutes, after finding nothing to watch, she decides to play on the PS4. She had just recently bough a VR for her PS4, along with a game called Beat Saber. It wasn't long after the VR was set up that a username pops up on the screen. "SteelClawKnight sent a messge". Y/n rolls her eyes and takes the VR headset off. She picks up her headphones and sends request for online chat. "You on break, Dinobot?" Y/n asks.

"Yeah. How's your burns treating you? Did you put any alo vera on them?" Dinobot asks.

"Yeah I did but I ran out. Can you bring me some when you get done with work? Also some bandage wrap too, if you could as well."

"Yeah. Still sucks what that customer did. Sorry the other employees and I forgot to tell you about him. He has caused us problems in the past. Apparently today he decided to come in and cause you hell."

"Like I said, it's not the worst I've dealt with," said Y/n as she sits back down on the couch to get more comfortable.

"Are you ever going to tell me what caused you to move here?"

"Not in a million years, Dinobot."

Dinobot chuckles at Y/n's remark. "I'll see you when I get done with work. Stay out of trouble," said Dinobot before he signs off from the PlayStation Network from his phone.

Y/n in the meantime gets a chance to start playing Beat Saber without anymore interruptions.

*Dinobot's POV *

It was around eight o'clock before Dinobot got to Y/n's house with the aloe vera gel and bandage wraps she asked him to get for her. He walks up to the porch and knocks on the door. After a few minutes of no response, he knocks again before Y/n comes and opens the door. He noticed she was out of breath. "What have you been doing?" Dinobot asks.

"I was playing Beat Saber on the VR. Wanna play?" Y/n asks.

"I don't have time for games right now. Maybe later." Dinobot hands Y/n a grocery bag with the aloe vera gel and bandage wraps. "I'll see you later then," said Dinobot before he walks away.

"Alright then. I'll see you on online later." Y/n shuts the door.

Dinobot walks away from Y/n's house. Right as he was about to walk over to his house, he noticed a car parked at the end of the street that wasn't there before when he first arrived. He taps a spot by his ear, activating his commlink. "Rattrap we got an intruder parked at end of the block. He wasn't there when I first pulled into the driveway."

"Go scare him off, chopperface. I have a feeling he is bad news," said Rattrap before he signs off from his end of the commlink. Dinobot walks around the side of Y/n's house, disappearing into the shadows.

*?'s POV*

A young gentleman was busy watching Y/n's house, with a pair of binoculars and a long-range listening device. "That is Y/n for sure. Seems she got the courage to move out to this city." He laughs. "This will be fun. I get to finish what I started. But first..." he jumps when someone knocks on the driver's side window. "What the hell, dude?" He sees its Dinobot. "What the hell do you want?!"

"I'm only going to say this once. Leave this neighborhood or I will call the cops and have your arse hauled to jail!" Dinobot snaps.

"I don't have to listen to you at all. Free country I can do whatever the hell I want," the guy said with a smirk.

"Beat it!!!" Dinobot snaps, lunging forward, baring his sharp teeth. "Last warning or else!!"

The guys speeds off.

*Dinobot's POV *

Dinobot watches the guy speed away. "Rattrap I'm going to follow this guy for a while," said Dinobot over his commlink before he takes off running down the street. He takes a short cut through the woods, changing into his beast mode, a Velociraptor. The process of changing to his beast mode didn't take long once Dinobot was running at full speed. He tails the car for a good few hours before taking the long way back though the woods, back towards Y/n's house. Once he nears the house, he changes into his robot mode. "Rattrap my suspicion has been confirmed. Most likely it is they guy that Y/n is running from."

"Dude get your arse back over here before Y/n sees ya. Its too soon to know about us and what we are. I'd rather have her wait a year before knowing our secret."

"I'm heading over right...." Dinobot cuts off his sentence when he feels something brush up against his leg. He looks down and sees it is Hamilton, Y/n's Persian cat. "Well at least her cat likes me for what I am." Dinobot takes a step towards the Maximals house, right as the back porch light flicks on. "Oh crap." He snaps his attention to the back door right as it opens and out steps Y/n. Her eyes widen in surprise when she sees Dinobot for what he really was. "I can explain everything."

Y/n stares at Dinobot in pure disbelief. "Yes you have a lot of explaining to do." Y/n calls Hamilton back inside.

"You really shouldn't let him roam. He could get stolen," said Dinobot.

"Just get inside. I'm still trying to process this," said Y/n. She heads back inside.

Dinobot follows in after Y/n. Realizing how badly he screwed up.
