Putting the Pieces together

*Dinobot's POV*

Dinobot hated to see Y/n leave for work. He had just gotten home, sees her, and then she's gone in his life again. But this time she won't be gone for what seems like forever. He looks back at Cheetor. "So how long have you two been living together?"

"I moved in a week after Christmas. We've all taken a vote and decided someone should be with Y/n so she doesn't hurt herself or worse out of greif," said Cheetor.

"Have you two..."

Cheetor puts his hand up to stop Dinobot from asking the question. "Stuck in the friendzone, old friend. Her bond was still with you. Besides why would I take away what you two have shared together?" Cheetor sits down at the table and motions for Dinobot to join him. "Besides it wouldn't feel right to form a sparkbond with Y/n when she already had one with you."

"You do have a point. Now fill me in on what I missed these past three years," said Dinobot as he sits down at the table across from Cheetor.

"A lot has happened since you've died. Y/n is now manager of the cafe. Plus Megatron has his sparkmate. Plus both Megatron and Tarantulas saved a few humans that both Rampage and Cryotek have been experimented on."

"Rampage? He's still alive? I thought you guys would have gutted him by now." Dinobot wasn't too happy to hear that Rampage was still around.

"The good thing is that he will leave Y/n alone. The bad thing, she ended up destroying your sword in the process," said Cheetor sheepishly.

"What do you mean? I thought my sword was buried with me."

"Come with me and I'll show you." Cheetor gets up from his chair and heads upstairs, with Dinobot following closely after.

"What happened to my sword?" Dinobot asks as he follows Cheetor.

Cheetor leads Dinobot to the guest room, which was now Cheetor's room. He opens the closet and pulls out a long box. Cheetor sets the box down on the bed and opens it. Inside the box was Dinobot's sword, the one he had with him before he died. The blade of the sword was broken in several places and the hilt was bent. "We all went back to where we found you in order to look for your sword. We all agreed that Y/n should get it."

Dinobot looks at the broken sword. "How did this happen? It shouldn't have happened."

*Cheetor's POV*

"What happened is that about a week after you died, the previous manager at the cafe fired Y/n on the spot for a stupid reason. Turns out you were one of the people keeping her there. That manager was scared of you. After Y/n had gotten home, after dealing with a phone call with the General Manager at the cafe, Rampage decided to pay Y/n at her home."

"She did survive the encounter that I can tell," said Dinobot as he picks up one of the pieces of the broken sword to examine it.

"Not without a few bruises on herself. But get this, she used your sword to defend herself. Since she was still receiving training from you, she couldn't properly use it, so she decided to vent and beat the crap out of Rampage with your sword, which is why it's broken."

Dinobot couldn't help but laugh at hearing bow Y/n beat up Rampage with his sword. "The tip of the blade is missing. So she did get a good hit in."

"We didn't know it had happened until she put everyone on group call on her phone, telling us to get our arses to her house before she could deal a finishing blow. Unfortunately once we got there, Rampage managed to escape again."
Dinobot sets the sword pieces back down in the box. "So is there anyone who can reforge it?"

"I dont know if anyone in Paradise Falls owns a forge," said Cheetor.

"Its alright. I'll take care of it myself," said Dinobot.

Later that evening, when Y/n got home for work, Dinobot was waiting for her in her room. When Y/n walks into the room, she shuts the door her. "You didn't have to wait for me," said Y/n.

"I know. But it was my choice to wait for you," said Dinobot. "Cheetor caught me up on what I missed these past years. He also told me about your run in with Rampage."

"Yeah I wasn't having a good day that day. What happened the next day after my encounter with him, the general manager called to tell me that the manager has been fired and banned from working that that cafe branch ever again. Its not easy being a manager at the cafe. Too much to handle at times," said Y/n. She sits down onto the bed next to Dinobot. She reaches over and runs her hand through his short white hair. "I'm going to have to get used to you having short hair for the time being."

"There's a lot you'll have to get used to that has changed about me," said Dinobot.

*Y/n's POV*

"I know you changed quite a bit. Your hair for one thing and your eyes as well. You have one red eye and one brown eye. Makes me wonder why you have a red eye."

"I'll show you my new Beast Mode and Robot Mode later. I know it's going to scare you, just remember I won't hurt you."

"I'm just glad to have you back in my life again." Y/n smirks before pushing Dinobot back onto the bed. She straddles his gut. "We can have our fun later but for now..." Y/n leans down and kisses Dinobot. "I'll just settle for us being together in our arms." She lays down next to Dinobot, pulling him into her embrace. "You have no idea how bad it was dealing with the fact you were dead. If you want I can show you which cemetery where you were buried." She buries her face into the crook of his neck.

"One thing at a time, Y/n. I'm still adjusting to being back with you." Dinobot closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, breathing in Y/n's scent. "Your scent has changed."

"Can you blame me? I was going through depression and I was stressed. I ended up getting sick dealing with migraines and heartburn. I'm still dealing with it but since you are back, things won't be as stressful anymore."

"Soon things will be back to normal for us."

"What's normal for us anyways? Nothing has been normal for us even before we started dating."

"As for now, let me change out of my work uniform so I can relax. I'll cook us something to eat."

Dinobot's stomach growls loudly. "Its been ages since I had any of your cooking. I'll meet you downstairs then." He gets up from the bed and heads downstairs.

Y/n watches Dinobot leave her room. She was glad he was back in her life. But thet also ment that their sparkbond had a chance to reform as well.
