Choices have Been Made

*Y/n's POV*

It's only been a week since Dinobot's funeral, it was almost New Years. Y/n stands in front of the headstone that now marked Dinobot's grave. It was only three o'clock in the afternoon but the weather was already turning bad. It was starting to snow. But Y/n ignored the fact that it was getting cold out. She was still trying to process the fact that Dinobot was no longer in her life anymore. The piece of spark that Dinobot had given her, in an energon crystal necklace, was no longer around her neck. It was hanging from her right hand. She knew it was best to try and move on, which she thought was leaving the part that Dinobot had given her, behind. Y/n wipes fresh tears from her eyes. "Why? Why did this have to happen of all things? I thought..." She wipes the tears from her eyes again before setting the necklace on top of the headstone. Y/n looks at the necklace one last time before walking away, heading back to her car parked by the entrance of the cemetery. She gets in through the passenger side door. Cheetor was sitting in the driver's seat.

"Are you sure this is what you want to do? If anyone finds that necklace with that remnant of Dinobot's spark...."

"I need to move on, Cheetor. I don't know if this will be the best decision I've ever made so I don't know how it will turn out." Y/n brushes the snow off of herself. "Let's just go home before I break down crying again. It was hard enough to gather the courage to come here anyways." Y/n buckles up her seatbelt.

Cheetor looks over to Y/n. He's never seen her in a more vulnerable state before. He knew the stages of greif. It surprised him that she told him that each human deals with greif differently. Cheetor turns the car on and drive away from the cemetery.

*Megatron's POV*

It was an hour later before Megatron and Taranchulas come out of their hiding spot at the cemetery. Megatron had a plan for the fragment of Dinobot's spark. "At least no one ended up stealing it," said Megatron as hs and Taranchulas walk up to Dinobot's grave. "We really need to talk to Y/n about what the consequences of what could have happened to this necklace if someone had stolen it."

"Just leave her alone, Megatron. Y/n needs time to grieve over Dinobot's death," said Taranchulas as hs pulls his winter coat tighter around his body. He hated how cold it had gotten in the last hour.

"Yet it doesn't help over the fact of what we plan to do with this spark fragment." Megatron picks up the necklace off of the headstone and puts it in his pocket.

"What makes you think this will be the right thing to do? We plan on bringing Dinobot back to life and...."

Megatron puts his hand on Taranchulas's shoulder to make him stop his rant. "We wont be defiling a grave site by digging up Dinobot's remains. You forget what we plan on doing. We have a Protoform set aside and we're going to use the spark fragment to create a new spark and graft it to the protoform."

"But my question is why?! What made you want to do this?! What makes you think this will be a good idea to create a new Dinobot?!"

"You didn't notice the change in things like I did when Y/n came into our lives. Yes we didn't get along with her in the beginning but she made us better than what we used to be when we first arrived to Paradise Falls all those years ago. Dinobot was still his usual self but when Y/n came into the picture, he still had his chivalrous nature but, beside having Rattrap as his closest friend, Y/n became someone whom Dinobot wanted to protect." Megatron looks down at Taranchulas. "Even if you won't admit it, she has had an impact on your life too. She gotten you out of your lab more times than I can count just because she considered you a friend and wanted to spend time with you."

A slight blush creeps across Taranchulas's cheeks. "You do have a point there. What can I say she was the best person to talk to when you were busy with your work," said Taranchulas. "When did she move here to Paradise Falls?"

"I think it was back in June," said Megatron. He steps away from the headstone. "What I am saying is that without Y/n being our friend, we wouldn't have changed for the best." He heads back towards the gate.

"Dont forget to call Cheetor and let him know you have the necklace," said Taranchulas as he follows Megatron. He focused on his surroundings, trying to focus on the better of things since the whole chaos of Rampage and his most recent kidnapping of a girl off of the streets. Taranchulas waits for Megatron to finish his call with Cheetor before he speaks. "When are we going to go and find that girl? Silverbolt is on the case but with little knowledge of how Rampage acts, he won't get far."

"Soon, Taranchulas. Soon we will. You go on ahead and I'll meet you back at the lab." Megatron watches Taranchulas leavs before taking the long way back home. He had walked to the cemetery and he's decided to walk home. He needed to clear his head of the current events going on in his life, especially the stunt that Cryotek had pulled only a couple of months ago. "I'm not ready to love again," Megatron said to himself. He felt the tug at his spark from the woman that came into his life after an unfortunate accident. And he was trying his best to ignore the fact of what the forced sparkbond was doing to him. "Is this what Dinobot had to deal with when he found out that Y/n was going to be his sparkmate?" He puts his hand to his chest, feeling his spark pulse in time to the forced bond. "I need to figure out how to reverse this effect. Its been driving us both crazy these past couple months." The rest of the walk was continued in silence as Megatron makes his way back to Primus University.
