Dealing with Emotions

*Dinobot's POV*

Dinobot waits until Y/n was asleep before heading outside. Her parents and brother were already in their rooms. When Dinobot and Y/n had gotten home earlier, Y/n's parents and brother were shocked to hear the news that Icebird had passed. He pulls out his cellphone and dials Megatron's phone number. After ringing a couple of times, Megatron answers the phone on his end.

"Yes?" Megatron asks.

"How fast can you get to my location?" Dinobot asks.

"Why are you asking?"

"Turns out a Cybertronion was hiding out here in the stare of South Dakota. Does the name Icebird ring any bells?"

"Not one of my proudest moments. I'll lock in on your coordinates and I'll be there as soon as I can," said Megatron.

After about thirty minutes, a gigantic red dragon looms overhead. It lands in front of Dinobot. Dinobot eyes the dragon over. "Took you long enough to get here," said Dinobot. He watches as the red dragon transforms into Megatron's human form.

"Do you have any idea how hard it is to lock on a cellphone signal when you do not provide me any coordinates to find you?!" Megatron snaps.

"Quiet down! Last thing I need is Y/n or her family waking up and seeing you here. I don't need them asking how the hell you got here!"

"Lead the way to where Icebird used to live."

Dinobot heads towards the forest. The walk was quiet until he decided to break the silence. "Transmetal 2 state, am I right? When did that happen?"

"None of your information," growls Megatron.

When they get to Icebird's cave, Dinobot leads Megatron inside. "Did Y/n say how long she knew Icebird?" Megatron asks.

Dinobot shakes his head. "All she told me was that she met him when she was eight years old."

Megatron kneels down next to Icebird's form. "Strange. To think that Icebird is one of the surviving results of that virus. Interesting..." He examines the wounds on Icebird. "Strange how these wounds are. Not like any of us to sustain an injury."

"You forget that Icebird didn't have a robot form to change back to..." Dinobot feels a tear trickle down his cheek. "Damn it, Y/n...."

Megatron turns to look at Dinobot right as Dinobot wipes the tear away. "Crying now, are we?" Megstron teases.

"I'd like to see you deal with a forming spark bond and try dealing with all these emotions!!" Dinobot shouts, causing a few rocks to fall from the cave ceiling.

"What's it like? I mean with the bond still forming?" Megatron brushed his hands off on his jeans and pulls out his cellphone. He takes a few pictures of Icebird.

"What are you doing?" Dinobot asks as he watched Megatron put his phone away. "I'm going to have Tranchulas analyze these pictures. Seems rather odd of Icebird to have those wounds. Also I am going to take his remains back to the lab at Primus University to get analyzed as well. Something just feels off..."

"Off? How?"

"I'll figure it out as soon as possible. Now answer my question from earlier. What's it like to deal with a forming spark bond?"

"Its very confusing. You don't know whether you are feeling your own emotions or your spark mate's. For me and Y/n, I haven't found a way to safely form the spark bond without hurting or killing her." Dinobot wipes another tear from his cheek. "I can tell she is very sad right now. Depressed that Icebird is dead and gone."

"I'd best be on my way. Let me know what you coming up with to safely perform the spark bond with Y/n. I'm curious as to what you come up with." Megatron drags Icebird's fallen form out of the cave before he changes into his beast mode. He grips Icebird in his front claws before taking flight and disappearing into the clouds.

Dinobot watches Megatron disappear before his time together back to the house. He was having trouble processing the different emotions he was feeling that were coming from Y/n. "Guess this is what humans would call the seven stages of greif." Dinobot focused on what current emotion that Y/n was on right now and he could tell she was already on depression. He knew he was in for a long night regardless of how she was feeling.

It was one o'clock in the morning by the time Dinobot silently sneaks into the house, paying mind to the sleeping cat in front of the door. "Mr. Whiskers as I recall your name." Dinobot bends down to pet the cat. "Come on. We have a human to cheer up." He picks up the cat, who meows in protest at being picked up from its comfy spot, and heads upstairs. Once Dinobot gets to Y/n's room, he finds her asleep or what he assumed to be sleep. Y/n had the blankets pulled over head. "I can tell you are awake." Dinobot sets the cat down on the bed before stripping down of his clothes and changing into a pair of pajama pants. "Even with what bond we have, I know you are awake, Y/n."

Y/n pulls the blanket away from her head. "Why was Megatron here?" Y/n asks.

"I called him here to deal with Icebird's remains. Also he is going to see if Tranchulas can figure out how Icebird got those wounds on his shoulders. Now scoot over so I can lay down."

"Make me."

Dinobot smirks. "Is that a challenge I hear?" The cat jumps down from the bed, knowing some kind of altercation was going to happen. Dinobot easily moves Y/n to the other side of the bed before he lays down next to her. He pulls her into his embrace, holding her close to his body. "Dont go crying again or you'll make me cry."

Y/n sniffs in response and wipes away a few tears from her eyes. "You don't know what it is like to deal with greif over the loss of a loved one."

"I do. I just don't like to show those emotions. Being a warrior on Cybertron meant to hide your emotions or your enemies could use them against you. The only emotions I showed my enemies were either anger or rage depending on the situation."

"Yet you follow the code of chivalry," said Y/n as she snuggles closer to Dinobot, enjoying the warmth they shared together.

"Someone has to," said Dinobot. He kissed the top of Y/n's head. "Get to sleep. I feel we may have an early start tomorrow."

"I'll try," said Y/n.

Dinobot was awake for another thirty minutes, making sure that Y/n was asleep before falling asleep himself. He was loving the bond they shared. He planned on after Christmas to finally complete their bond.
