The Boy in the Rain//Klance

20. Keith

I see him walk into the house with Allura practically joined at his hip. They've been dating for almost eight months so I'm pretty used to them, but it still hurts. I guess I was the one to break off things though. This is my punishment.

Allura kisses both of his cheeks and squeezes him to her once more before heading to her friends. I watch as Lotor and Lance talk. I haven't seen them being friends in a while...

Lance looks straight at me.

Shit. I pull my eyes away from him and gaze around the room. There's no way in hell he didn't see that. I look back at him and he's heading my way. Shit fuck shit.

He leans against the wall with me. He looks really cute today. "Hey Keith. Saw you starin' what's up?" Lance asks me. I blush because he did see me. "I just wanted to say hi. I also need a friend, no one I know is here." Lance nods at that.

"Okay, I'll be your friend for tonight. Just tonight though!" I raise an eyebrow at him, "Aren't we already friends?"  I watch as so many emotions cross over his face. Then he smiles, crinkling his eyes, "Yup! Just friends!"

Ow. That wasn't very subtle.

"Anyway, how are you this fine evening?" He asks me with a grin, it's been hard being just friends with Lance but he seems a lot happier now. "Terrible. I hate parties." Lance cocks his head to the side. "Why are you at a party then?" Because I wanted to see you. I know you'd be here.

"Acxa says I need to socialize more." Lance nods at that, "I like Acxa. She's really cool." I reply with a small 'yep' and I watch as Lance takes a hesitant sip from his cup. He's looking right at me too. "What Kogane? Got something to say." He takes the cup away from his face and he licks his lips. Shit.

I don't know what to do. I could kiss him but he has a girlfriend and he doesn't like me anymore. "Lance do you want to leave this place? Go somewhere else?" I ask and regret it immediately. Lance puts a finger to his chin as if he's thinking.

"Sure. Let me ask Allura if she has a ride home." I nod and he gestures at Allura from across the room to come over. She's obviously been drinking a lot more than us because she's swaying. Once she reaches Lance she jumps into his arms, him being surprised has to hold her up so she doesn't fall.

"What? Allura-"Lance is interrupted because Allura shoves her lips onto him. I watch with anger boiling in my stomach as Allura opens up Lances mouth by biting his lip  and shoves her tongue in his mouth. Lance is surprised but he doesn't pull away, he kisses her back just as passionate.

Once Allura starts moaning and rubbing against Lance I know it's time for me to leave this situation. I'm walking through crowds of people around Allura and Lance. They're whooping and cheering and I want to cry. I look back once and I see Allura glaring at me and grinning. Then she mouths; he's mine. I turn away again and almost run across the room.

"Keith!" I hear Lance yell from across the room. I ignore him and walk out the door. I cross the street and get onto my motorcycle. I'm trying to put on my helmet when I feel a body rest against mine.

"Can I have a ride?" I hear Lances familiar voice rumble on my back. I don't say anything but I give him my helmet. He smiles at me and then puts on the helmet. I look away from him.

"The ice cream shop?" I hear Lance suggest as he wraps his arms around my waist. I don't answer but I start the engine and drive away from Lotor's house.

He's so close.

He holds onto me tightly and I'm glad he can't see my face. I'm blushing so hard. We pass lots of cars and people on this busy Friday night.
