Ch 28

Joe

Today was my wedding day. Today I wouldn't be a single guy,I will have a woman,the mother of my children,the woman who will be with me through rich and through poor,sickness and health. The woman I can imagine my life with.

I was on the couch,slipping on my shoes as I saw Nick fixing his tie in the mirror,I could tell he was upset,I got up, and headed to him,"What's up,brother?" I put my hand on his shoulder,"I'm not giving you my shit on your big day." he sighed,I fixed his tie with him,"Your shit is my shit. When we watching our wedding video thirty years later,Idon't want to be like,'Hey,remember when you were upset and I didn't do shit?' Now come on," I led him to the couch,"Tell Dr.Joe what's up."

Nick chuckled a little as he put his hands together and set them on his lap. He licked his lips, "Demi and I....we discussed marriage...and..and..I told her how I felt about it..She said she'll think about all this,this weekend...she wants a husband and a family...I'm worried that she'll break up with me because I don't want that...but I can't let her go."

"Nick,She loves y--"

"She loves me,but she doesn't want to love me so I can break her heart down the road," Nick sighed, looking down at his legs," I don't know what do..I love her,Joe...but I don't want that kind of commitment." I looked at Nick and I could tell he was really upset,"Look,hear me out...I know you don't want to marry now,but this is guy that told me he would never love again...now look at you...you're falling in love..So never say never,big brother." I patted his leg.

Nick nodded with a sigh.

"Mr.Jonas,it's time." I got up and fixed my tie,"Remember,you could change your mind...try to tell her that.." I hugged him and headed out of the room at the chapel,I walked down the aisle and stood in my spot. Chapel flower girls were throwing down guitar picks instead of flowers onto the aisle.

I looked at Demi, then at Nick, who was in awe of the little girls,but mostly Demi. Next came Chloe,she walked down the aisle with some red roses and a white dress she packed. I smiled big at her,she blushed and headed down to stand beside me.

Soon enough a Gene Simmons impersonator came and stood in front of us."Good Evening ... and welcome everyone! We come together with heartfelt joy to witness the joining of Joe and Chloe .... as they dedicate themselves to one another in marriage. You guys are here today because of the special feelings you have for Joe and Chloe, either as a family member or a friend. Your presence is a statement about who Joe and Chloe have grown to be. Your love has helped make this moment possible." I kept smiling at Chloe.

"Are both of you willing to give your hand to the one whose heart you hold? "

"We do." Chloe and I said in unison.

I took Chloe's hands and I rubbed her knuckles lightly,admiring her beauty.
