Ch. 16

Joe

I needed time to process all this information,I mean I'm not that guy that would leave a girl who had my baby,I just wish I would been there for the past two years,I missed his first word,his first sold food,and his first step. I sighed,I just wish I was there to help Demi out. 

I got in my car when I left Nick's and headed home,I needed to tell Chloe about me being a father,I hope she understands that. We have talked that we want to be the first parents to each other,but now that I'm a parent before,she might take it differently. 

I pulled into the driveway and got out of my car,I headed inside,"Hey baby." Chloe smiled at me,when I walked in,"Hey beautiful." I put my hand on her soft cheek,looking at her in the eyes,she smiled sweetly at me,"We...need to talk..." I looked down for a minute,"Okay,babe." I took her to the living room area,I kissed her passionately.

She giggled in between the kiss,then she finally got to sit down,I sat on the chair in front of her,I leaned on my knees,I took a deep breath,"Okay...so...you know that Demi girl I told you about?" I sucked in my bottom lip,her smile quickly disappeared,"That girl you met in Mexico two years ago,right?" she stared at me,"Yes...well...we hooked up there...in Mexico..and....I guess....the condom broke..." I certainly don't know how to tell her.

"Okay?..." her face started to show that she was scared,"And...I have a son..he's just turned two not to long ago.." I looked at her,she was looking down at her lap,she ran her hands through hair,she got up,so I did too. 

"I need time...I need air.." she headed to the door,I grabbed her arm,"Chloe..." I looked at her,"I need air,Joseph."  she looked at me before she snatched her arm back,she walked out of our house,I looked down. 

I flopped on the couch,I dialled up Nick,I rubbed my face as it rang,"Hello?" Nick answered,"Can you please hand the phone to Demi?.." I sighed,he gave me an okay .

"Hello?" Demi spoked,"Uhm,hey..it's Joe." I looked at the ceiling.

"Hey Joe.." she was quiet,"I want to meet Damon tomorrow...how about we all go to the Zoo...cause I don't think you would want me to take him by myself...for the first time.." I said,"Yeah,that'll be great! He loves animals,we'll meet you there at around 10 in the morning?" She asked.

"Yeah,sounds cool. Maybe we could meet at IHOP for breakfast..maybe at 9?" I asked,"Yeah,that'll be cool,we'll see you there." Demi said,"Alright..can't wait. Bye." I hung up.

I sighed as I got up from the couch,I slipped on a ball cap,backwards and got in my car. I drove to a bar,I need a drink.

I pulled into a parking spot and headed inside,I found a chair at the bar,"Give me something heavy." I handed him money,the bartender started making my drink,"Rough day?" he asked,I sighed,fixing my ball cap,"Rough week.." I sighed.

I started drinking my pain away for the night,"Give me some more,just keep them coming." I handed him more money,I got my phone out and dialled Nick.

"Hey Joe." he answered,I drank my shot,"Hey brother...What you doing?" I chirped,"Just relaxing...are you okay? You seem...more excited than usual...Dude.." he asked,"I'm  just drinking my sorrows away,big brother." I drank another shot.

"Wait,what? What bar are you at?" he asked,"I..don't....remember..hold on." I put my phone on my shoulder,"What bar is this?" I asked the bartender,"La Cita." he told me,I put my phone back onto my ear,"La Cita..there is alot of good looking senoritas.." I chuckled.

"I'm on my way,stay there...and try not to get too drunk." He hung up,I laughed, I put my phone down,"I said keep them coming..." I glared,swirling the vodka glass around.
