Ch. 43

Nick

Joe & I were looking at each other after I showed him the picture on my phone that Jules sent me. The guy in the photo was Demi's ex boyfriend who was obsessed with Demi, according to Jules. Now it was clear as to why he took Chloe, too. He was out to get me & Joe because Jesse was our "friend," Jay. This crazy ass guy who I felt creeped out by from the first time I met him now had abducted Demi & Chloe. I had no idea what his intentions were. I had no idea how crazy this guy actually was. All I knew is that he had taken Demi & Chloe for whatever reason & Joe & I had to do whatever was necessary to find them.

We didn't want to wait for the rest of the crew & band to be ready on the bus, so Joe & I took the car that we had rented & headed home, one of the guitarists, John, driving the car for us. He had a wife that he wanted to get home to, so he was happy to drive since Joe & I were too distracted to drive. The drummer, Jack, also came with us, so Joe & I were in the backseat on the way home. Jack & John both knew what was going on.

Right before we got on the road, I got a phone call. It was Kelly, so I answered it, curious as to why she was calling. "Nick! It's Kelly. Do you know about your girlfriend & sister in law?" She asked, sounding panicked.

"Yea." I looked at Joe as I put my phone on speaker. "Do you know something?"

"You can't call the police. If you do, they will kill them both." Kelly whispered, loudly.

I widened my eyes at Joe, who hurriedly texted Jules since we had told her to call the police before we left. "They? Ian helped this guy didn't he? Do you know where they are?"

"Ian doesn't know that I know anything, but they took them to the beach house we have. It's completely private & overlooks the ocean. It literally looks over the ocean, so it's on a cliff away from the main road. I can take you there & maybe you guys can sneak in on them & get your girls." Kelly said in a low voice. I glanced up at Joe, who looked hopeful now.

"Give me the address of the beach house Kelly." I said, grabbing Joe's phone so I could put the information into it.

"Just meet me at the gym & I will take you guys. What time can you be there?"

Joe looked at my watch & shrugged. "Like 9:30?"

"Okay, I'll meet you there." Kelly said then disconnected.

"I'm texting Jules & telling her where what's going on. Just in case I guess." Joe said as he started punching something into his phone. "We'll take you guys home, first, though." Joe said to our friends in the front, who nodded in response.

It seemed like the longest drive ever back to L.A. We dropped the guys off at their homes, then headed to the gym. Kelly was waiting & as I pulled in, Joe touched my arm. I looked at him & he looked worried. "You sure you can trust her?" He asked.

I shrugged. "Not really, but we don't have any choice right now. This is the closest thing to a lead that we have." I said, as I opened the door.

"I'm really sorry about this Nick. I had no idea Ian would get involved with someone like this & try to get revenge on you." She said, looking down, often as if she felt too guilty to look at me.

"It's not your fault. At least now I know what this is all about. It's Jesse who was after me & Joe because of his obsession with Demi, so he enlisted Ian to help him since Ian had a problem with me. Pretty simple case of revenge. But they messed with the wrong guy. I'm not going to stop until Demi is safe. You do know that she's safe, right?"

"Yea, he said both girls were there at the house & they were fine. They're feeding them & trying to treat them well."

"And Chloe is okay? She's pregnant... so...." Joe spoke up from inside the car.
