Ch. 47

Demi POV

The holidays were amazing, spending time with Nick's family & seeing Damon have the time of his life getting spoiled by everyone. In February Nick had a show on Valentine's day & him & Joe invited me & Chloe to go to the show. I was excited to see him perform live, since I hadn't yet. He hadn't invited me to a show yet, mostly because they were either during the week & I had to work or because it was going to be a late night any time he had a show. Valentine's day was perfect since it fell on a Saturday & Denise had offered to take Damon for the night so all of the adults could enjoy some alone time.

Chloe didn't want to go to the show since she was so huge, but her & I went shopping & found her an adorable maternity outfit, so that got her a little excited. We were hanging out at Chloe & Joe's new house a few nights before the Valentine's day show. Joe & Nick had taken Damon with them to get some take out food for all of us & Chloe was modeling her outfit for Nick's show. I was laughing as she posed, looking ridiculous in some of the poses because she was humongous. She looked like she was ready to pop any minute now, but still had a month & a half to go. I saw one of Joe's cameras sitting nearby on his desk, so I grabbed it & started taking photos of her, both of us laughing hysterically. Once Chloe got winded, she sat down next to me on the sofa & I started flipping through the photos I had taken of her.

"Joe is gonna love these." I said, still laughing. I stopped laughing when I came to a photo of Nick being kissed on the neck by a woman who I didn't recognize. I scowled as I looked up at Chloe. "Well, isn't this interesting?"

Chloe shook her head & smirked at me. "Those were taken around Christmas. That girl in the back has a Santa hat on." Chloe remarked as I looked through a few more photos. Joe had taken a few photos of Nick that night getting flirtatious with some girls in the front row & near the bar.

"Well his show Saturday, should be interesting since I'll be there this time." I lifted my eyebrows.

Chloe started biting her lip & I knew by this look that she had a thought in her head that she wasn't sure she should share. I gave her a look that I knew this & she sighed with an eye roll. "Joe told me something, but I don't think you're supposed to know."

"Oh God, what?"

"Nick's label wants him to act like he's single when he's at shows or does interviews." Chloe said, cowering a little as if I might hit her.

"What? And is he going along with this?"

Chloe shrugged. "I mean Joe said he did an interview the other day & he skirted around the girlfriend question & he does flirt a lot at his shows. He's even taken a few phone numbers, Joe said."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I had been worried when Nick embarked on this career path, but now I was even more scared that he would go back to his old ways. The front door of the house opened up & the guys all came in, laughing about something. Damon was on Nick's shoulders, smiling from ear to ear. I couldn't help but to smile when I saw him because he looked so happy.

"Wook, Mommy. I taller dan you & Unca Nicky." Damon said in an excited tone. I was trying to remember that I was upset with Nick, but it was difficult when he looked so cute with Damon on his shoulders. Nick's smile took up the lower half of his face & it made my heart swell. I sighed, smiling up at Damon.

"You sure are." I laughed as I reached for Damon to pull him off of Nick's shoulders.

"You ready to go eat?" Nick asked Damon as he clapped his hands together. Joe held up the food & I put Damon down.

"Yea!" Damon yelled, jumping up & down at Joe's feet.

"You guys go ahead & start eating. I need to talk to Nick for a minute." I said, avoiding Nick's confused expression. I watched Joe, Chloe & Damon head into the kitchen to get the food passed out, then I turned to Nick. "Care to explain?" I asked after I picked up the camera & got the photo in question up on the screen so he could see it. His expression fell from happiness to regret in an instant.
