Ch. 62

Joe.

Life was brightening up for as I kept getting stronger. I don't use the wheelchair or a walker anymore,but I use a cane, which means I can walk one day without it. Nick and Demi are finally engaged, which I couldn't be a prouder brother. I love Demi and I can wait to call her my sister in law.  

While Nick and Demi was getting some alone time, Jules and I took Damon out for fun. I offered to let Damon stay the night, but Jules wanted to keep and I'll get him tomorrow.

Chloe finally bathed Serenity,so I got to change her at her changing table while Chloe was cleaning Annistyn. She was kicking her feet while she was butt naked on the table. "Dance,girl dance!" I chuckled.

I start shaking my hips a little while holding on my cane, "Shake it,woo!" I chuckled again.  She looked up at me,and started laughing at me. My smile faded and I felt like I was fixing to pass out.

"Chloe!!!" I yelled right in time as I fell to the ground. She run in,carrying Annistyn. "What happened?" She put Annie in her crib.

"My legs gave up, I guess." I sighed. I felt useless again.

"Here, sit down." Chloe helped me up and sat me down on the rocker that we had in the nursery. She even propped my feet on the feet rests. She looked at me, "Joe.." she rubbed my head.

"I'm useless." I stared at the wall. "You're not useless. It just happens,babe. We're in this together." she kissed my forehead. "It would be a nightmare,Chloe. I could have had Serenity in my arms when I got weak and I dropped her. I couldn't live with that."

"Well, that didn't happen, so nothing you need to worry about,babe." she combed my hair with her fingers. I sighed. "I want to help you in every single way. It's my fault my sperm found your egg." she let out a laugh and went to change Serenity.

"Well, I helped you there,babe." she gave me a smirk.

"How so?" I crossed my arms. "I'm not talking dirty to you right now." She held Serenity at her hip, I grabbed my cane and got up. I wrapped my arms around her from behind. "You didn't pull away." I kissed her neck.

I picked up Annistyn and carried her to our bedroom to get some alone time. "Hey Annie Bannie!" I laid on the bed, I hovered her over me. "Weee.." I made her pretend that she was flying. She had a smile on her face the whole time.

I chuckled and lowered her to my face, I started kissing her chubby cheeks making her giggle. I laid her beside me and looked at her eyes.

"You're definitely not dating any boys until you're 80. I might be dead, but I'll be watching over you and your sister and you'll follow my rules then, if not, well,you'll see."  I chuckled as I continued kissing her cheeks as she cooed at me.

"80 huh?" Chloe turned off the video cam,holding Serenity with her other hand, I sat up. "Yeah, they're not allowed until they are 80. They have to be 80 because that's when you'll know if a man loves you for your looks or for your personality."

She arched her eyebrow,giving me Serenity. "What about me?"

"You're exceptional,Chloe. I know you love me for me, not just my good looks." I smirked at her. She scoffed at me. I pulled a fake frown. "Hey."

She bent over and kissed my lips, "Kidding. Help me get them to sleep." she picked up Annie and we rocked them to sleep.

After we got the babies to sleep, Chloe and I stayed up a little bit watching a movie that was on TV. Chloe took my hand that was flat on the couch and entwined our fingers.

"Joe.." she muted the TV.

I looked over at her, "I don't know if I told you this, but there was a time where I really thought you were gone...I was actually a wreck.." she held my hand tight. I looked down at my lap,remembering it all.
