Ch.32.

Joe

I fluttered my eyes open,I was in serious pain and I kept hearing beep beep beep beside me. I groaned in pain. I slightly turned my head and it was my heart monitor. I groaned again,I looked around and finally realized I wasn't outside with Nick,I was in the hospital,why the hell am I in the hospital?

I grabbed the call button and pressed it.  A nurse ran in,"Oh hey,Mr.Jonas. You're up!" the nurse squeaked,"What happened to me? I'm in so much pain.." I groaned.

"Well...it looked like you got jump two nights ago...you have two black eyes,a broken nose,a cut on your eyebrow and broken rib,Mr. Jonas." she told me,"Would you like some pain pills?" she asked,I was so in shocked that guy could do so much damage. "Sure. How long do I have to stay here?"

"If you doing well today,hopefully tomorrow. Your doctor will see you about it tonight,I'll go get you your meds." She nodded,"Can you also get my wife,Chloe Jonas?" I asked,she nodded,"Yes,sir." she left.

I moaned in pain,it really felt like I slowly dying. Chloe ran inside,"Oh my god,babe!!" she covered her mouth,looking like she was about to cry."Hello beautiful." I took her hand,"How you feeling? Everyone is so worried." she kissed my hand,"I feel like I got ran over...How are you and the twins?" I entwined our fingers,"We're doing great now...we were worried tho...what exactly happened?" she pulled up a chair and sat down.

"Nick and I were walking out of the gym..and um...Nick forgot his wallet so he went back inside,I was going to get in my car and pull it next to his. So I was walking and suddenly some guy wrapped his strong arm around my neck and started strangling me...I couldn't breath..He finally let go of me,I was bending down to catch my breath,then he pulled me up by my hair and he started punching my face like a mad man...and then he kicked  my legs and I fell down to the ground...that's when Nick came out and he started throwing punches at the guy..which didn't really seem to affect the guy. I was to weak to get up...then suddenly I saw the guy pull out a metal iron and he whacked Nick in the head...Nick fell down...I eventually got the strength to get up,I  was about to punch him,but he caught my hand in his fist,then he started punching me in my eye and the nose..then he hit me with the metal iron in the back of the head.."

"Here is some water and your pain pill."  the nurse walked in,"Thanks." I took the cup and the pill,Chloe helped me swallow it. "Hit the button if you need anything." the nursed walked out,"So how's Nick?" I looked at Chloe,she sighed,looking down,"What? Is he okay?" I started to worry,"He has to be okay. He's my brother. He was fighting for me,he should be okay,I'm the one that should be gone." I stared at the ceiling.

"There was bleeding in his brain,babe.." Chloe looked down,"No..." I closed my eyes,even though it hurt to shut them,"They rushed him to surgery when you guys arrived that night...They did a scan of Nick's brain and they said because of all the head injuries Nick had as a fighter,it may make this even more serious..." Chloe sighed.

"And what else?" I looked at her,she came to me and stroke the part of my hair that wasn't in the bandaged,"He hasn't woke up since." she pecked my cheek. I sighed,I didn't say anything,I kept thinking about Nick,my brother is not awake,but I am.

I watched as Chloe was fixing her hair in her mirror,I saw my reflection,"Fuck,I look like shit." I finally spoke out,"Babe.." Chloe rushed to me,"My nose,my black eyes and face is bruised,I look like shit." I beamed my eyes at her,"You're always handsome to me." she kissed my hand.

"I love you,babe." I kissed her hand."I should let Demi come see you,she's been worried over both of ya'll,but mostly Nick.I'll be back." she patted my leg and headed out of the room.

I closed my eyes and rested for a minute before Demi walked in.

"Are you sleeping?" Demi walked in,"No,I was just resting." I looked at her,"How you feeling?" she sat down next to my bed,"Well...I took a pain pill,so the pain isn't that bad,but I can't really move to my side,so I have been better." she laughed,"You'll still your silly self." she was digging through her purse,"What doesn't kill you make you stronger,right?" I gave her a weak smiled.

"Right." she laughed a little,"Damon made you a card,I had to help him,but still." she handed me a card. I opened it up,I laughed,"Sweet,he gave me a slim body,nice!" I smiled,"So how is Damon doing about the situation?" I tried to look at her,"He's too young to understand...but I was so worried he would lose his father that he just started to love..and I.."

"And I,what?" I put the card down,"I would lose Nick..." she sighed.

I took her hand,"Chloe told me...when I saw the guy whack Nick...his hit was more severe..but he'll wake up.." I gave her another smiled,"But what if he wakes up and the hit was so severe...he forgot me...his memory.."

I couldn't imagine Nick forgetting everything,even me.

"He won't do that,Demi...Love conquers all,remember that.." I gave her a friendly kiss on her hand,"I hope so...maybe he loves me and he couldn't forget about me." she smiled,hopeful.

"Exactly. He won't forget you. Shit,it's hard to forget you...It was 2 and a half years and I didn't forget you..but luckily I found somebody to make me forget about you." I chuckled a little as Demi flashed me a big smile.

Demi stayed in my room a little bit longer as we kept chatting up,she finally left because she needed to get home,so Chloe came back. She helped me with my dinner. She was a good wife already. We even watched wheel of fortune. She was chatting to me,how thankful she is that I was okay and that I didn't leave her with two babies on the way. We kept chatting until I fell asleep.

I just hope my brother wakes up soon.
