It was October, Halloween was fast-approaching, and for once, I felt confident enough to get a sexy costume. But I didn't want to just be sexy. I needed to be sexy AND dangerous. I needed the perfect combination of both. I went shopping with Ella, Mackenzie, Samantha and Ivan. I'd like to claim Ivan was there to offer a guy's perspective, but the truth was, he and Samantha wanted to pick out a couple's costume.
"I like this one," Ella stated, picking out a sexy angel costume.
"It's too sweet," I replied. "You should actually get it. You know, be ironic," I teased. Ella was always the more rebellious sister, always getting up to some devious antics, so it would be completely out of character for her to dress up as an angel.
"Ha... ha..." she sarcastically replied, hanging the costume back on the rack.
"What about this one?" Mackenzie asked, bringing a sexy cat costume over. I cocked an eyebrow at her. "What?" she asked defensively. "Cats can be dangerous," she continued.
"I just don't want a stereotype. How many sexy kitties do you think will be at Karen's party?" I asked.
"Well then, let's do a group costume," she offered.
"Like what? And don't say I can be Peach from Mario Party, or I will strangle you," I threatened. Mackenzie laughed. She loved to tease me with that costume, since Peach was my least favorite character, next to Daisy, in the Mario Party series. I had nothing against the characters per se, but for some weird reason, whenever they were paired with whatever character I had, they suddenly couldn't play and I always lost the mini-game in which I was paired with either of them. It's one of the main reasons I avoid video games. I get too competitive and angry. I have almost ruined friendships over them.
"Um, Ivan and I are going as a couple costume," Samantha piped up. She held up their costumes.
"Ah, I love it!" Ella commented with a big grin on her face. "I love bacon and eggs, seriously, you guys are my favorite breakfast," she continued.
"It's so quirky, I love it too!" I encouraged, noticing Ivan's lack of enthusiasm. He was clearly doing this for Samantha, otherwise he probably would have gone in normal clothing and then put on a name tag with someone else's name, claiming he was dressing up as that person.
"Just stay away from the food table, or else people might get confused," Mackenzie teased. She looked back at the rack of costumes. "Ooh! I found my costume!" she said, pulling up a "Suicide Squad" version of the Harley Quinn costume. Which gave me an idea.
"Well, in keeping with the spirit of a semi-group costume..." I commented, browsing the shelves. I finally found it. "Where there's a Harley Quinn costume, there's a Joker costume." I had found a sexy female Joker costume that consisted of a purple sleeveless suit jacket, a yellow vest, purple suit short shorts, and a green tie. Definitely deranged and therefore dangerous. "Ella, you should be Poison Ivy!" I said, finding a Poison Ivy costume and handing it to her. The costume consisted of an extremely short green dress and vines to wrap around her arms and legs, as well as a red wig.
"Why don't you be Poison Ivy?" she commented. "Your name's already Ivy."
"Do you want to be the Joker?" I inquired.
"No, just pointing out the obvious," she said, picking up a Poison Ivy costume. "Green looks better on me anyway, so I will spare you that embarrassment," she teased. I just smiled back. This party was going to be so much fun.

It was the night of the Halloween Party. Karen said I could invite Derek, since I found out his original plans fell through. He was dressed as a zombie, and he did a pretty good job of it, especially considering it was such a generic costume. He came with Ivan to pick up Ella, Mackenzie, Samantha and I. We girls all got ready together.
