Carter’s POV
After we had left Jai’s house, we walked all the way to Glenroy station. Jai left a note for his mum telling him why he was going. I don’t even know why Jai would run away with me like this. No one has ever done anything like this for me.
We got on a train to pretty much nowhere. I stared out the window while Jai was sat next to me. I turned my head to face him.
“Where do we go?” I quizzed.
“Anywhere, we’ll stay on the train for a while and then get off.” He said.
“Haha you and your wacky ideas.” I chuckled.
“Yeah but you love me.” He joked. Right then I flinched at the thought that I might.
I giggled lightly.
--
Jai and I have been on the train for 3 hours, just chatting away. We soon got off and caught a bus out into the middle of nowhere. Literally there is nothing here, just trees and twigs. All you can hear are the sounds of the birds chirping, and the smell of the forest.
We walked in and around the trees. The sound of leaves breaking beneath our feet. We soon came to a small opening it was perfect for us. We began setting up the tent, well Jai did, and I don’t know how to put up a tent.
Once that was finished we stood still not sure what to do. We decided to unpack what we had bought, like two minute noodles, sleeping bags and stuff. I felt my phone begin to vibrate in the pocket of my shorts.
From Motherduck:
Come home please.I ignored the text and didn’t reply. I placed my phone back in my pocket and looked up at Jai who was puffing out an extra duvet.
“Everything okay?” He quizzed.
“Yeah.” I smiled.
--
It was pitch black and Jai and I had just finished eating our noodles. We both had no idea how long we planned to stay out here for. I had no idea what the fans would think. Speaking of the fans.
“I just got a tweet from Beau.” Jai said as we stepped into the tiny two person tent.
“What does it say?” I quizzed.
“@JaiBrooks1 if you’re reading this please come home! We’re so worried about you.” He read out loud.
“We can go back if you want.” I told him as his facials had dulled.
“No, I don’t care; I want to stay here with you.” He said turning his phone off and chucking it at the end of the tent. I did the same, watching my phone land at the end next to Jai’s.
I was sat up leaning upon the side of the tent when Jai ask me the question I’ve been avoiding forever.
“Do you know your father?”
“Can we not talk about that?” I said looking away from his stare.
“You can tell me.” He replied. “I won’t judge you.” He added.
“Umm.” I stampered. “He fucked off on me and my mum, he ran off with some other woman. He told me that he never wanted or my mother and that we were the worst mistakes he ever made.” I said quickly, trying to get over this conversation quickly.
“When did it happen?” My god this boy wants answers.
“If it helps my dad left when Luke and I were two years old.” He said.
“That makes me feel a little better. Every time I went to a friend’s house their dad would always be there and I felt awkward because of what happened.” I replied.
“It’s normal to feel like that.” He comforted me.
I smiled up at him as he did the same to me.
“I’m so cold.” I spoke through shivers.
“Here.” He said placing the duvet over the both of us.
“Thanks.” I replied.
We talked about life problems for a few hours, and had an emotional yet deep conversation with each other.
“I’m gonna go put my sweats on.” I told Jai getting up and walking out of the tent.
I walked over to a tree and changed into my sweats. I returned to the tent and found Jai shirtless with his pj pants on.
“Carter.” He said softly.
“Yeah.”
“I really like you.” He said… he finally got to say it without my phone interrupting him.
“I really like you to.” I agreed sitting down next to him.
“Will yo-ou go o-ut with m-e-e?” I stuttered over each word that left his mouth.
“Yeah.” I smiled like an idiot.
I couldn’t help it, his lips and his whole body intrigued me. I pressed my lips to his.
“Are you a virgin?” I asked as my hand pressed to his bare chest as he laid me down.
“Um yeah.” He replied self-conscious.
“So am I.” I agreed trying to make me feel better.
He brung his lips to mine again. He hovered above me as he kissed down my neck. He stopped for a seconds and looked me straight in my eyes. I gave him the nod, to let him know that it was okay if he wanted to.
“Are you sure?” He quizzed making sure I was being serious.
“Yes.” I smiled as my fingers brushed through his hair.
