***One Month Later***
Jai’s POV
Planning your girlfriend’s party isn’t as easy as it sounds. It takes a lot of work. Even though we finished organising it a month ago, I wanted to make everything perfect. Its Carter’s sweet 16, it has to be perfect.
--
It was the day of the party and, Beau, Luke, Daniel, James and Chloe along with the rest of our friends were setting up Chloe’s house for tonight. Chloe has a house almost as big as Carter’s. The stairs were lined with little pink fairy lights and the house had happy birthday signs everywhere. It looked great.
I walked outside to set up the table but there was an extra person there. She turned around and I noticed her as a girl from our school… not a nice one. Her names Izzy, and she’s always liked me and she makes Carter’s life miserable everyday… that makes about a hundred people that hate Carter. I walked over to her and tapped her on the back, she turned around.
“Oh hello Jai.” She smirked.
“What are you doing here?” I smugged.
“I’m helping out.” She smiled walking closer to me.
“And why would you want to?” I said holding my stance.
“I’m not doing it for Carter; I’m doing it for you.” She winked, trailing her fingers up and down my arm.
“Oh really?”
“Mhm.” She kissed me. WTF! Ew get it away from me. I couldn’t pull her off me.
She latched onto me like a fucking lion. As soon as I pushed her off me, she had smudged red lipstick all over my face.
“JAI!” I turned around to be faced with a very confused looking Chloe.
I ran past Izzy to get to Chloe but she was already walking away.
“Chloe WAIT!” I yelled as she walked up the stairs.
She snapped her body around to face me. She was really angry.
“That wasn’t what it looked like.” I said puffed from running towards her.
“Yeah, well what the hell was it?” She snapped.
“She came onto me.” I said staring at Chloe.
“Yeah, yeah, that’s what they all say.” Chloe smugged.
“Please don’t tell Carter.” I begged.
“Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t tell her?”
“It would ruin her party.” I replied.
“Well I won’t tell her, but you sure as hell better!” Chloe was furious, pure anger in her eyes.
“Fine.” I murmured.
Chloe stormed off and slammed a door and then there was some crashing and what-not. I plonked down on a chair and I felt disgusted in myself. Even though I didn’t do anything, that girl has some major issues. I will tell Carter, just at the right time.

Carter’s POV
I was busy getting dressed for my party tonight. I chose to wear a white flowing dress with a pair of white pumps. My mum did my makeup, she always does it best. I tidied up my hair and went down the stairs to meet mum. She had an awkward expression on her face. I sat down at the breakfast bar and just stared at her.
“Is everything alright mum?” I quizzed.
“Yeah… it’s just…” She paused.
“It’s just what?” I was concerned.
“I got offered my old job back, back on the Gold Coast.” Mum said.
“Did you really?” I shrieked.
“Yeah.” She put her head down.
“Why are you upset about that?” I asked.
“So much has happened with you and Jai, we shouldn’t go back.” She said.
“Give me a bit of time and I’ll let you know what I think.” I replied.
“Okay, well, have fun at the party.” She smiled.
I left the house and caught a taxi to Chloe’s. I don’t know if I want to move back to the Gold Coast, because I’ll miss all of my new friends and I’ll miss Jai the most. But I do really miss all of my old friends like a lot, and I’m sure mum wants her old job back. But I have a while to think about it.
I paid the driver and made my way to Chloe’s front door. She answered it and there was everyone that I knew there, well of course not everyone, but most people. I said a quick hello to everyone and thanked everyone for putting that whole party together.
Jai was all lovey dovey and kissy huggy the whole night, it was so cute. It got to the time where Jai handed me a small box that was wrapped. Everyone watched as I opened it. Once the wrapping was off there was a small red velvet box. I popped it open and it was a necklace with the letter J on it. Jai took it off me and placed it around my neck.
“Now you’ll always remember me.” He pecked my forehead.
“Wasn’t there something else you needed to tell her?” Chloe butted in.
Jai looked at Chloe with shocked eyes, like he wanted her to be quiet.
“What is it Jai?” I quizzed staring at him.
“I’ll tell you another time.” He looked down.
