Chapter 24- No

Carter’s POV

Staring at the small screen on the stick seemed like forever. I took deep breaths as the minutes past. Until that moment, the moment when the answer popped up on the screen.

Negative

It was a shock and I dropped the test onto the floor.

“Shit!” I whispered.

“You alright?” Chloe quizzed.

“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine.” I said picking the test up and placing it in the disposable bin.

I scurried out and I was relieved that I wasn’t pregnant.

“What did it say?” Chloe quizzed.

“I’m not pregnant.” I smiled.

“Are you happy about that?” She asked.

“Of course, I’m not ready to be a mother.” I said exiting the bathroom.

Chloe and I walked to our lockers and grabbed our lunch. We then headed to our eating area and sat down on the grass in the sun. I ate my sandwich and watch everyone chat and laugh, and I felt myself wishing Jai was with me. We would be chatting and hugging and having our little cute moments. I brushed it off and joined in with my group and their jokes.

Lunch finished and we continued with our other classes. I had Legal Studies, I quite enjoy it, and I want to be lawyer when I’m older. I opened my book and wrote down my work, and continued on with the class.

We learnt about death penalties back in the olden days, it was very interesting. I was completely zoned out in the lesson when I heard a knock on the door, it was the school nurse.

“Yes nurse Anna?” Our teacher said.

“Um I have an issue I need to talk about.”

“Go ahead.”

Anna walked to the middle of the class room and held up something.

“This was found in the girl’s bathroom.” It was my pregnancy test, I didn’t say anything, I didn’t flinch. “Does anyone know who’s this is?” She added.

The class shook their heads.

“Girls, you know this is not allowed, you are too young, if this is from your grade I hope one of you own up to owning this.” She continued.

Once she left the room the bell rang at the same time. I scurried out to my locker, and was stop by Jai again.

“Did the nurse come to your class?” He quizzed.

“Yeah.” I nodded. Why am I talking to him?

“Was that your test?” He asked.

“Um yeah.” I was embarrassed.

“Are you?”

“I’m not.” I replied.

“Oh.” Jai replied.

“Oh?”

“I was kind of looking forward to raising a little Janoskian.” Jai smiled awkwardly.

“Really?”

“Yeah.” He replied.

“Maybe in a few years.” I giggled walking off.

“Wait Carter!” Jai yelled.

I stopped in my place and turned around to see him running towards me.

“What is it?” I questioned.

He didn’t say anything her just kissed me, in front of the whole of the people standing in the hall. I kissed him back, even though I was still angry at him.

“I love you.” He whispered as he pulled away.

“Um Jai.” I started. “I need a few days.” I added.

“Oh um okay.” He replied

I walked off and grabbed my books and headed to my next class. Jai kissing me was on my mind all lesson and I didn’t really concentrate, oh who the hell concentrates in calculus?

After the day finished I went back home and cleared my mind. I had a Jai free night and it felt good, to just have some me time. I enjoyed my peace and quiet why mum was at work. I had a nice bubble bath and read a funny book. It really brightened my day.

I didn’t look at my phone all night because I know Jai would be texting and calling me, but I really just needed some time to gather my thoughts.

I ended up staying in that bath for around what seemed two hours. I jumped out and blow dried my hair and changed into my pyjamas. I sat down on my bed and scrolled through my mentions on Twitter.

I was beginning to get tired so I shut off my phone and went into the bathroom to brush my teeth. I could hear rustling outside of my window. I hastily walked out and saw that my bedroom window was open. It was a really windy night and I was kind of scared. I ran over to shut the window but someone’s hand stopped me from closing it. I looked down and saw that Jai was hanging from my window ledge.

“What the hell are you doing?” I looked at him confused.

“Can you help me up?” He quizzed. I still stared at him but I chose to pull him up.

Once he was in my room I was shocked that he was here.

“It’s late, you shouldn’t be here.” I said.

“I needed to see you, and even though we are fighting I need to say sorry.” Jai said.

“Okay.”

“I shouldn’t have asked you about your father, and I shouldn’t have told you to leave like that, if you didn’t want to tell me I shouldn’t have pushed you tell me like that.” Jai said with full apology in his eyes.

“Well…” I started. “I’m still not ready to tell you, and I guess, if you don’t tell me to leave, then you’re forgiven.” I smiled.

“I’ve missed you, even though it’s only been two days, when I’m not with my day goes so long because I’m not having fun and chatting with you.” He said coming closer to me.

“It has sucked without you, I barely stopped crying.” I said looking down.

“Carter, I love you.”

“I love you to Jai; I don’t want to ever lose you.” I replied wrapping my arms around him and hugging him tightly.

We pulled away and he kissed me passionately, we didn’t break the kiss for three minutes.

“Guess what.” Jai said.

“What?” I replied enthusiastically.

“I love you!” He said.

“I love you more!” I stated.

“Never!”

“Yes!” I replied while laughing.

Oh I’m so happy we are not fighting any more, I couldn’t stand it! I just hope nothing ever tears us apart again!
