Carter’s POV

I stood in the door way of my bedroom, staring at my room. It was completely empty, not a single object was there. I could hear the leaves rustling outside my window as there was a light summer’s breeze.

Tomorrow is the day that I am leaving so that means today is the only day left that I can hang out with my friends. We had organised to have a small get together at Jai’s house later on today. But for now I’m staying at home and helping mum pack up the last bits and pieces.

I walked down to the 2nd floor of my house to help mum unplug the T.V and put it into a storage box. The T.V is so heavy and it does need two people to lift it. We placed it into the box and sticky taped it shut.

The removalist truck is coming today so everything will be at our old house when we arrive back on the Gold Coast.

I heard the honk of the truck and allowed the guys to being piling our stuff onto the truck. I went back inside and sat down on the tiled floor.

I am rather upset that I am leaving Melbourne, so much has happened. I went to a new school, made new friends and I’m sure they will be friends for life. The thing I will never forget is Jai. He has made me so happy and so sad, and I really think I love him. But I’m happy to leave and go back to what really is my home.

--

The house is now completely packed up and the trucks are on their way back home. I chucked on some comfy clothes. Knowing what is going to happen later with Jai and I, I mean obviously it is going to happen because I’m not going to see him for a very long time.

I pecked my mum on the cheek and left the house. I walked to Jai’s house and met up with Chloe on the way. She was bubbly as always, that girl is always happy. We kept on walking to Jai’s and when we arrived we were met by all of our friends.

We did some chatting and laughing together. I walked over to Jai who was sitting by himself on the sofa, he didn’t look all that happy.

“What’s up?” I said as I plonked myself down next to him.

“Nothing much.” He replied.

“You don’t seem happy.” I said.

“I’m just going to miss you, that’s all.” He said placing his hand on my knee.

“I’m going to miss you to, so how about one more time before I leave.” I said looking in the direction of the bedroom.

“Alright baby.” He replied.

I grabbed Jai’s hand and we walked to his bedroom. We sat down on the bed and just kissed for a while. Nothing rough, just something special. For some reason I didn’t want just be like ‘fuck me already’ maybe all you need is just a little spark and it will all be fine.

So we decided to just hug and cuddle together on Jai’s bed. We talked about all the times we have had together, the bad and the good.

After hours of hugging and chatting I had to go. This is the last time I will ever see Jai. I stood up off Jai’s bed and he did as well. We walked out of the room and I said good bye to all of my friends. Some of them got emotional and some were okay with their emotions. I said good bye to Jai alone outside his house. We were stood a metre a part from each other. I stepped closer to him and intertwined our hands and swung them back and forth.

“Well then.” I said awkwardly. “So this means we’re not together anymore.” I nodded.

“Well, we could, but that would be really hard.” Jai replied.

“Yep, well feel free to kiss any girls you want.” I giggled.

“I’m not going to kiss many girls.” Jai shook his head while laughing.

“I’ll miss you.” I said.

“Yeah me to.”

“Well, hopefully I see you soon.” I said.

“Yep.”

“Okay, cya then.” I waved dropping our hands from each other’s.

“Cya.” Jai said placing a small kiss on my cheek.

I walked down the pathway from his house and back to my own. It’s like we went from being strangers to friends, to being together and now back to strangers.

Oh well, I’m sure I will see him again sometime soon.

--

I arrived home and sat down next to mum.

“How were the goodbyes?” Mum quizzed.

“Surprisingly they went fine.” I smiled lightly.

“And Jai?”

“He was fine, we aren’t together anymore.” I replied.

“How do you feel about that?” What is she getting at here?

“I’m fine, I mean usually relationships only last about two months at this age.”

“That’s my girl, now let’s get some sleep.”

And with that, we headed straight to bed, all ready and refreshed for our trip back home tomorrow.

Please Note: There is going to be a fairly large time skip in the next few chapters. I hope you like what I have planned soon J
