Chapter 28- Soon

Carter’s POV

“GET UP, GET UP!” I heard someone yell.

I fluttered my eyes open to see Chloe screaming in my face.

“Uhg.” I huffed.

“Come on we’re going out.” She bellowed while I slid out of the bed and put on my clothes. I looked over my shoulder to see Jai still cuddled up asleep.

“I’m not going out.” I replied.

“Why?” Chloe quizzed.

“I need to tell you something.” I looked.

“Okay, tell me.” She smiled.

“I’m going back.”

“Back where?” She quizzed.

“Back to the Gold Coast.” I replied.

“Bu-u-t, you’re like the sister I never had, I’m going to miss you so much.” Chloe said.

“I know, I’m going to miss you so much as well.” I replied giving her a hug.

“When are you leaving?” She asked as we pulled away.

“I’m not sure, probably soon though.” I replied.

“Promise you won’t leave without saying goodbye.” Her eyes were deep.

“I pinkie promise.” I linked out pinkies together; you never break a pinkie promise.

I finished getting changed and quickly pecked Jai on the cheek, and left Chloe’s house, thanking her for the party as I did so.

I walked back to my house with a smile on my face. I was so happy my friends understood my choice to move back. I reached my house and looked for my mum. She was looking through a magazine.

“Hey mum.” I smiled.

“Hey darling.” She replied.

“I’ve been thinking.” I started.

“Yeah.”

“And I think I want to move back… wait scratch that, I do want to move back.” I smiled.

“Really?”

“Yep, I’m 100% positive.” I nodded. “But when will we leave?” I questioned.

“As soon as possible, I was thinking in a about 4 days.” Mum said.

“I’m actually excited.” I said.

“So am I.”

“I can’t wait until I see my friends again.” I replied with a smile.

After my mum and I had a little girly sesh I went up into my room. I sat down on my bed but before I could get comfy my phone rang.

“Hello.” I answered, it was Jai, as per usual.

“Hey babe.” He replied.

“What’s up?” I quizzed.

“Nothing much, want to do something?” He quizzed.

“Sure, what do you want to do?”

“I was thinking maybe we could go to Luna Park, because you don’t find Luna Park on the Gold Coast.” He giggled.

“Aww you cutie, I’ll meet you there in an hour.” And with that we hung up.

I changed into a pair of pale yellow shorts and a white singlet, with my white VANS. I tidied my hair up and put a light amount of makeup on. I grabbed my bag and headed out. I jumped on the first bus to Luna Park.

Once I arrived Jai was waiting outside of the park for me. I ran up to him and jumped into his arms, kissing him as I did so. I linked our hands together and we entered the park. I had no idea where I was going so Jai lead me around. We went on so many rides, it was so much fun.

We headed towards a food stand and got some cotton candy. We shared it and took photos with it together, us being our cute selves.

“Come with me.” Jai tugged my arm.

“Where are we going?” I quizzed running after him.

“To the Fares wheel.”

We waited in the line for around 30 minutes. Jai and I chatted and laughed together like we always do.

“Next two please.” The worker said.

Jai and I stepped into the carriage and waited for it to go up. It moved up a little bit and then stopped.

“Your next present is at the top of here.” Jai smiled.

“Ohhh what is it?” I quizzed.

“I’m not telling you, you dummy.” Jai laughed and I joined in.

We continued to go up and the view was amazing. You could see over the whole city, and it was beautiful. This whole moment was utterly perfect, and I won’t have this for much longer. Soon I’ll be back on the Gold Coast with all my old friends. But I’m happy about that but I’m going to miss Jai and Chloe, and all the brooks brothers, this makes me sad, but I’m going to get over it, everything will be fine.

We reached the top of the fares wheel and I turned to face Jai. His eyes were glowing in the light and he looked so amazing. He moved closer to me and we rocked the carriage a little, by accident. He moved a little closer and kissed me. Not breaking the kiss for 5 minutes. We just stayed there together and everything went blank in my mind. Nothing else mattered other than me and Jai.

Once the fares wheel moved down we pulled apart breathless and smiling. We jumped off the ride and walked out of the park.

“Hey, do you want to come back to mine.” Jai asked.

“I would, but I have to go and pack my room… sorry.” I replied.

“Well I’ll come and help you.” Jai replied.

“Alright.” I smiled.

We went back to my house and began packing my room. This one of the last times I will see Jai.
