Chapter Thirty: Lights Out Part 3

-Kat's POV-

Fading excruciating pain is what I felt as I slowly regained consciousness. Groaning, I slowly opened my eyes, blinking a couple of times to adjust to the bright light. I sat up slowly, shivering at the cold air around me. Rolling onto my side I wrapped one arm around my still healing stomach, using my other hand to support my weight as I slowly pushed myself up. I took a deep breath and let it out, surprised that it released as a misty cloud. I shivered again, glancing around the frosty area.

"Kat, try not to move so much. I'm still healing your wound. You could have died if you hadn't activated my powers when you did." Mizu exclaimed, concern laced though out her voice.

I blinked a couple of times, squinting as I tried to remember what happened.

'Aizen!'

My eyes widened, glancing frantically around the room, my heart speeding up like a jack rabbit. A gasp of surprise left my lips when my blue-grey eyes met Unohana's concerned dark brown ones.

"Unohana..." I murmured softly, confusion obvious in my voice.

Unohana stood in front of me with a clear look of confusion on her face. She kneeled down beside me, her hand gently passing over the water on my healing wound. Her eyes narrowed as she studied the glowing blue water, something like puzzlement flashing through them. A moment later they softened as she turned to look back at me.

"I see you remember things now, Vazquez-san." She spoke softly, standing to walk away from me.

"No, I don't remember anything, yet." I stated seriously, frowning.

Another wave of shivers ran through me, causing me to look up and take in my surroundings. I looked across the frozen floor, slowly coming to gaze at Toshiro's limp body, Momo lying not far from him, also unconscious. I narrowed my eyes at the sight, glaring at the two small officers bodies with an angry passion.

'Aizen almost killed Toshiro...Momo...and me. I was useless against him. I couldn't stop him, even after all the training I went through yesterday.' A soft hiss of frustration left my lips as I stared.
